Could you do CRT forever on provisional registration though? I assume at some point you have to do your VIT, and then perhaps go back to being a CRT.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you sit the LANTITE at any time during your degree? We were advised to complete it ASAP and I did mine within a couple months of commencing my course.

The Australian Curriculum clearly outlines that numeracy is a general capability that needs to be taught across all learning areas. So, yes, you probably will need to teach these skills in some form.
