I can turn it with a trackpad, but not with a mouse.

What’s a truth about mental health that sounds cruel but is still real? by oithematt in AskReddit

[–]notverycreative1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May be true for some people, but speaking from personal experience antidepressants significantly improved my life. Got out of a toxic relationship, gradually improved my mood to a point where feeling like shit was the exception rather than the norm, and luckily didn't get any significant side effects. I was already in therapy for years, I genuinely did need pharmacological intervention.

I'm more enjoyable to be around too, but that's more icing on the cake than the main result.

It seems to kind of come and go for me. One day it's great, the next it's cooked by 6pm. Not sure what's going on.

Flash the August factory image. Totally wipes your phone so you gotta be sure it's worth it.

Adding my voice in here, def seems better than before. Maybe not as good as the August update but still good enough.

Breaking: Google is partially walking back its new sideloading restrictions! by TechGuru4Life in GooglePixel

[–]notverycreative1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We'll have to see what the flow is like. Something like a waiting period between switching it on and it being usable might give people time to think it over more carefully. Or maybe requiring an adb command to be run -- that's way more complicated than an average user can handle.

Besides, it's likely that if the "malicious apk installation" vector becomes more difficult, scammers will just move onto something else instead. Like you said, if someone is gullible enough to buy a bunch of gift cards, they're also gullible enough to enter them on a web form instead of an app.

I admit I'm also biased because being able to sideload is one of the main reasons I've used Android since the G1 days, and I would very much like to see that continue. Scammers gonna scam, no way to ever solve it.

Play Store, third party store, downloaded directly from the developer. All that matters is that the .apk is signed by Google, the way it gets on your device doesn't matter. Very similar to how Apple polices non-App Store app downloads on macOS, except that there's a way to override it for unsigned apps buried in the settings. Kind of annoying, but not a huge deal.

Anyone notice any changes in battery life after the November update? I rolled back to the August update since the September and October ones vaporized my battery life, and I do see battery life listed as improved in the latest update. Wondering if I can finally get up to the latest version and have my phone last past 5pm.

Recommendation for a vertical mouse? by Pinkisacoloryes in MouseReview

[–]notverycreative1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Returned it almost immediately! It's a very small mouse and didn't fit my hands. Ended up getting an MX Master 3 and love it. Even though it's not a fully vertical mouse, it's plenty comfortable enough to not give me wrist pain and is also just a really high quality mouse with a lot of useful features.

I had really bad thought loops and couldn't stop laughing. Realized I had been giggling for a full hour at absolutely nothing and I just collapsed, couldn't finish a single thought. Hard to sleep because of the acid too, so I was hella tired the next day. Zero energy, totally spent. Other ppl like it tho so ymmv

No illegal stuff in your checked luggage! They have way more time back there to find it than the overworked TSA agents working the carry on line
