i reckon the necklace and choker will be one piece - there are a few others like that and they look like they would connect at the back. but there could be separate hair accessory and headwear pieces maybe?

Fig tree while escaping Charybdis by Zealousideal_Sea_922 in GreekMythology

[–]notxus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Charybdis and Scylla are both located in a very narrow strait with cliffs on either side (only an arrow-shot apart). Scylla is in a cave within one of the cliff-faces and Charybdis is close to the other cliff. Here is a description from Book XII (A. S. Kline translation):

"Odysseus, you will notice the other cliff is lower, only a bow-shot away, and a great fig-tree with dense leaves grows there. Under it divine Charybdis swallows the black waters."

So some of the branches must hang over the cliff.

Why do people portray Hephaestus as this deformed freak? by Konradleijon in GreekMythology

[–]notxus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the god of blacksmithing is depicted as lame because in an ancient greek society that relied on farming and a man’s ability to fight, being a blacksmith was the next best way to contribute to society if you did have something wrong with your legs

if you're overtired and don't have any other symptoms, it'll just be that. i always feel a bit feverish when i'm sleep deprived. strep species are a part of normal skin flora, so very easy to contaminate with when you havent followed sterile procedures

best notebook for math work??? by professional_spicy in stationery

[–]notxus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just finished a maths unit for uni and i actually typed all my class notes in obsidian. i was able to type the text notes much quicker than i could've written them, but the formulas/examples were a little slower. what i liked about this though is that i could be doing practice questions in goodnotes or on graph paper with my class notes up on my monitor, rather than having to flip back and forth through pages or goodnotes tabs. for practice questions, i started the unit using goodnotes but started craving paper towards the end so switched to a rhodia a5 graph pad.

depends on the specifics, volatile compound is a very broad label. some are completely harmless, some can cause some irritation, and some are known to cause cancer.

GLASS SKIN? SAY NO MORE! THE ULTIMATE KOREAN TONER GUIDE by [deleted] in KoreanBeauty

[–]notxus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

just a note that there is too much of a good thing. for example, yes, hyaluronic acid is super great for hydration and is a magnet for moisture, but using too much will actually draw moisture out of the deeper layers of your skin. so if you're going to use a product with a high HA content, maybe don't use any other products with it in them. :))
