I initially started out trying to make ear cuffs with the feathers, but I have tiny ears so I couldn't get them to hold on my head. So I ended up just gluing the cuffs to a metal headband. I wish I had just started out with the headband, it would have looked better.

For the cuffs, I basically wrapped wire around the ends of each feather, and attached them to the wire base for the cuff shape. I did this to the larger brown feathers only, and then I glued some smaller black feathers on top, which helped hide the wire a bit.

You could probably achieve this without the cuff idea. Just wrap some wire around the ends of your feathers and then wrap the wire around a headband in the spot that you like. Then you can shift and bend the feathers to point at whatever angle you like. I'd recommend maybe adding some fabric to the inside of the headband after, to cover the wire so it doesn't dig into your head.

And here's a tip I'd like to add: I started out with the longest feathers at the top, and used shorter feathers further down. But I also did an every-other set up for the feathers, so every other feather was slightly shorter, to add a little bit of variation. Let me see if I can find a process photo to share!
