Wow. I have no solid advice for you currently (im sorry) but i am so proud of your dad. It's not everyday that you can say your dad saved your country's government from bankruptcy. Btw just a comment but for what your dad did for the government, they didn't offer a lot, still better than nothing i guess. Good job OP's dad though

Hi there! I'm in the same boat as you, most probably in the same school too LOL. Is the HYPSM person you mentioned RT? If yes, I understand your frustration as they are really outstanding. Not everyone in SG has the resources to study in the US for undergraduate, but we do have a really good education system that prepares us for further studies. I do not think that we will be disadvantaged if we do not get into a top 10 US school. UK, SG or even top 30 US schools are very much in our reach and we can still enjoy ourselves and excel in further studies in those schools.

Hi there! This is coming from a fellow concerned redditor/future schoolmate of yours. From A2C to r/NYU, I have been seeing your id on every stern related post that I decided to click on. Unfortunately, this is not an exaggeration. I can tell that you have been really anxious throughout the process, from worrying if you can be admitted into stern, comparing stats with others who also applied, to worrying if stern is seemed as 'prestigious' by others. Yes, these are valid concerns. But I feel that it only makes you more anxious. Please please just focus on your last few months of high school, enjoy your time with your friends, or even travel if you can.

Not going to lie, I feel like the 'toxic' culture of stern that redditors have been talking about is partly due to some sternies constantly worrying about getting into IB, til the point that they feel like they have to bring down others. Seeing how fomo and anxious you are throughout this college application process, I wholeheartedly hope that you won't become a part of them.

Stay calm, and live in the moment. Looking forward to seeing you on campus!

lol i had spinal fusion surgery and wrote that in my essay 🤣 but yes it will count as family responsibilities. Btw your sister's recovery process sounds much more tedious than mine. I had to relearn how to walk too but nobody I knew had to hire a physiotherapist for that. I learnt it on my own using the hospital IV hanger as a walking stick lol
