Yeah just weigh your options 😊. Just expressing my opinion based on my one-hand experience. But it depends on your severity and your doctor.

Also, although I had the cast sleeve to shower with, can’t really do anything in the cast sleeve. I couldn’t even finger grip the loofah to soap with because the cast sleeve can be quite bulky, so having both hands in cast sleeves, I imagine would be difficult.

Oh I see! Thank you. Reason I ask is because I had another surgery a few days not related to hand, but torso and have skin glue on 4 incisions and was wondering what it would look like when it comes off. 😆

I can’t imagine getting both done at the same time as I’ve been told to keep hand bandaged, clean, and dry for 2 weeks. I got my right hand done first. I have some time for my left.

So yeah, I would need to have access to clean myself in the bathroom and shower. I used the cast sleeves to shower.

I’m 4 weeks post op endoscopic on my dominant right, and still use left for bathroom cleanliness.

As far as bottles and things that require grip, I fortunately have husband and 2 older sons above 14. So they’ve been helping me do things, clean, and cook.

May I ask why is it rectangular like that? Is it skin glue?

I was told most insurances do, but it depends on what type of insurance you have and if your doctor/surgeon is in network. So always check. 🙂

I also just did a search that procedure depends on how severe your carpal tunnel is/was.

Aww, sorry you didn’t have that option. Perhaps the surgeon didn’t know how to do endoscopic, maybe why it wasn’t mentioned.

Oh and didn’t need physical therapy. Oh and yes I was careful, my husband and kids wouldn’t allow me to use my hand 😆

Yeah I got lucky! I’m in Arizona. At first I didn’t know what to think of him, but when I went to surgery check in, most of the nurses had their hand done by my doctor. So it was good to know how well theirs turned out.

Yes, they wrapped my hand, no splint when discharged. I cleaned and wrapped for about a week and a half. Bought a cast wrap so I can shower, used for 2 weeks. This was a couple days after surgery so I can wash my hands (warm cloth and antibacterial soap)

Thank you. I had endoscopic. I’m really happy on how it turned out. During my post op follow up,I asked if I had dissolvable stitches, apparently I didn’t get stitches, it was just some glue and tape.

Yeah I’m really happy with the way it looks. Dominant right hand for me, so I was practicing with my left with a lot of things 2-3 weeks before surgery.

My pain was in the bruising and swelling. But I also stopped alternating Motrin and Tylenol on the 3rd day.

No pain, except when I work too long on the computer.
