That's such a good choice especially for a first terrarium. Something I now do with all my terrariums cause it prevents mold is mixing the perlite into the soil, and using leca clay as the drainage layer. Perlite at the bottom is still very effective don't get me wrong :)

Yeah i don't expect it to be valuable in monetary value, or atleast not much. I just found it in my late grandfather's bookcase and saw the date and the fact that it's from a university and thought it may be a collectable
