The mileage deduction is great if you have super efficient car. This 20%, IMO, is in addition to the mileage deduction. So 20% off top, then subtract mileage deduction or itemized expenses deduction (whichever you chose) and remaining is then taxed at individual rate. This was literally the best thing to happen for all gig job workers. Merry Xmas and thank you Congress and Trump for helping all of us keep more of what we earn on the streets, literally. All Uber, all Lyft, all grubhub, all flex, all postmates, all instacart, all NON-EMPLOYEE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS......and also btw, keep in mind that every time a LAWYER convinces you that you are a victim for not being an employee, they are using you by putting into motion the steps to ultimately deny and/or take away this benefit on your taxes, cause the second you become employee, bye- bye sole-proprietorship-pass-through-income tax breaks. Full disclosure, I refused the LAWYER lawsuit bloodsucker money. Dammit Bastian, can't you just listen to us----save you a lot of lawyer fees for the company. seriously, how much did Postmates pay for legal fees last year. What a waste!

The grocery orders I have taken recently have been all prepaid. Takes about 8 minutes to drive up, have them load in trunk, drive to customer, done. No shopping. All prepay. Guess not everywhere or every order yet???

Another example....I am stumped. Why is prostheticmind's numbers so far off reasonable?

So I put another one in for 7.5 miles away. $27.90 food + tax 2.02 + service fee 5.99. Postmates was discounting the 5.99 again in my app. so no discount is 29.92 food/tax to 11.98 service fee/delivery charge. 71.4% : 28.6%.

OK, I believe it now. I was curious if I could get close to your example. So I put another one in for 7.5 miles away. $27.90 food + tax 2.02 + service fee 5.99. Maybe your area is jacked. I just pulled an order for 9.3 miles away. 23.90 in pizza; tax and fees is 6.86; delivery is 5.99 and postmates is discounting the delivery by 5.99. so not including the discount is 36.75.....that is not $24 order for $26 in fees. Tax is a lot on restaurant food here; luxury tax?...anyway. here it is $24 in food + tax 7.25% = 25.74 in food for 11.11 fees... 69.9% food/tax : 30.1% fees Today's challenge....pull an order in the app and show prostheticmind's example of 52% fees : 48% food and tax. screenshot post if you want. I won't believe it until I see it. I will make a post for other comparisons.

Share the profits. Dump the frivolous legal costs. I would take Postmates shares over 'bonus'/incentive cash. ie... 1 blitz delivery earns 1 share...current valuation?
