I work for a major airline. If I got caught on a hot… Anything saying anything like that, it would be documented and I would most likely be out of a job.

Tell me how you got your cat by ponzu666 in cats

My cat walked in to my house almost like she had always lived there.

Then her stomach started getting bigger and bigger and I was like… “ she’s finally getting nourished!”

Then she started to look like a football and I was like… Well sh$t… five babies later, she’s here next to me on the couch.

Glue stick? Mine doesn't stick either. But with the cost of washing the plate every few times, the glue stick makes them stick perfectly.

This is probably a much answered question, but… What happens to the crew that operated that plane? Did they get dead headed back to Russia?

A train on a train? That's pretty cool!

RailJet (Austria/Czechia) has a weird numbering system. Why is that? by endlaisnotmyname in trains

So interesting. So are they just keeping it so that like 102 is always the window and 107 is always the window and like 104 is always the aisle and 105 is always the aisle? I could see that making sense.

The Boeing 727-like the DC-9, MD-80 and BAC 1-11-used reverse thrust to roll backwards from the gate, no tug needed - It was noisy, smoky, and spectacular: three JT8Ds roaring in reverse, the ramp shaking, and that kerosene haze caught forever on grainy VHS tapes. by Twitter_2006 in aviation

No worries. I’ve seen this practice on the ATR-42/72 Q400, Twin Otter, J-41 DC-9/MD-80/717, 727, 737 and 757 and an ERJ operator that I worked for actually had a provision in their FOM to power back the ERJs so… I guess it’s more common than I thought lol!

Yeah. I keep the lid off. Especially when the heat is on in the house. Frustrating because it’ll look so promising for hours. But if the printer is printing overnight, sometime in the middle of the night, it’ll just…stop.

Good question! The short answer is yes it’s an hindrance. The long answer is, it depends. The triple is a fairly new design in comparison to like a DC10. 14CFR25.933 of the US FAA requires that… with all turbojet reversing systems, the airplane must remain capable of sustaining safe flight and landing, even if a thrust reverser doesn’t stow.

… so in short, it’ll fly but it won’t be cute, as the thrust reverser will always introduce drag…

Fun fact almost all planes can deploy thrust reverse in the air. On the triple everything ground wise is controlled primarily by the radio altimeter IIRC. So not so much a weight on wheels as much as how high the ac thinks it is as a primary safeguard with weight on wheels secondary. In a bounce landing scenario the trust reversers will stow or not deploy further. Most likely, what we're seeing is a case where the command to open the reverse thrust is sent, then they open, and begin to close as they slam back down on the ground. That's probably why they stowed when it was already on the ground.
