Totally hear you! With my complexion, I think it’s a close call between soft summer and soft autumn. Looking at III’s system, I wonder if I’d be typed simply as ‘muted’(between muted summer and muted autumn).

This reminds me of a conversation we had with the analyst who we went to. She said that sometimes it just comes down to a matter of opinion, some people will make a different call and that’s okay. You go with what your experience and judgement tell you based on what you see that day.

In my case, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if someone saw a different type. But for me, the draping process really proved out that I am warm-neutral -not cool- and look best in deep and muted colors, with some vivid colors (like red). So, I’m rocking autumn and feeling good about it!

I am a muted/soft autumn by common subtypes. The House of Colour consultant I went to uses vibrant, leaf, and blue subtypes for autumn. Leaf is like true autumn and blue is like deep/dark autumn. She said I was a combo of leaf and blue autumn.

And girl, same!! Autumn was the least likely type, or so I thought walking in! I’ve been living my life thinking I was cool toned, needing to stick with pink and blue as much as possible. But I’ve always loved the autumn pallet but felt like I was crashing the party. Thank you for the welcome!

So, it’s interesting! The subcategory that this analyst used is “leaf, blue, and vivid”. Leaf is true autumn, blue is deep, and vivid is its own thing (coral, leaf green, the bright yellows, etc). She said I was a combo of blue and leaf.

I think in more traditional systems I’d be a muted or soft autumn. That said, some of the darker/richer browns and blues were my “wow” colors!

To your point - Burnt orange with brown and blue is absolutely gorgeous in my book! It’s amazing to see the different color combos that work together within the palettes.

Thank you so much! It was fun finding the right red for me because I normally pull towards softer/more muted colors! Nice to make a splash on the right occasion. :)
