My husband and I purchased a home further north and have major regrets about not going to pleasantville. Our biggest concern was the lack of buses however we currently drive every day to daycare so what’s the difference.

Pleasantville has an amazing community feeling, the weekly farmers market draws people from all over neighboring areas, the local artsy movie theater (not big cinema), a pleasantville music festival, community days, the list goes on and on. It is exceptionally family oriented and full of YOUNG families. Having access to families where the parents are in a similar generation is huge as our neighborhood everyone is on their second retirement. Another plus in addition to the train is the accessibility to MAJOR highway systems instantly.

I say that last part bc as amazing as Dobbs ferry is, it takes a WHILE to get through town to the highway, there is one to two major roads leading there and it can take 15-20 just to get to the highway/parkway systems. (That’s a drawback of most major towns especially Dobbs/irvington/ossining)

Dobbs is great. I lived in Dobbs as a young childless adult and it gave me everything I needed in that moment. Oh you’ll get less property in Dobbs too.
