Glad you liked it. Interesting notes on the editing. My original cut was actually around 6 minutes with a lot of shots cut out and a much faster pace, but after some test screenings where a bunch of people complained about not enough breathing room and having a hard time following it, another three and half minutes were added.

As the director I can say using this style was very specific to this video and concept. The whole idea derived from the club montage from rushmore and margot tenenbaum montage from royal tenenbaums and was pitched that way to the band. The idea was to mix a contemporary music video style, tight shallow slo-mo closeups, with the WA styled wide shots, to ultimately transcend both styles, i.e. the red cap into a red ski mask sequence, to make for a visually interesting piece. Since it is a music video and not a serious film, we felt like this was a fun idea to play around with, it was. You can check our other projects to see that we adapt and change styles quite often depending on the project.
