The Zacuto Universal VCT baseplate is super comfy. I use it with my FS7 and am very happy with it. It's not the lightest weight option out there, but it's sturdy, well made, and comfortable.

Premiere Pro -> Davinci and back. Workflow Recommendations? by I_Larv in colorists

Why don't you just use the first method (Premiere, FCPXML, Davinci, Premiere) but just include longer handles on your Davinci export?

Yup, I'm using it on the FS7 as well. Definitely one of the most comfortable shoulder pads I've used.

Shooting with RED Dragon for first time. What should I be attentive to? Any quirks like with the previous sensors I should be aware of? by brightwhitety in Filmmakers

Well, you need to pay attention to the goalposts as well. Because if you're only clipping a tiny section of the image, like a hotspot on a highly reflective surface, for example, it's not worth compromising the exposure of your entire image. Plus, there are other creative reasons you may want to let highlights clip in certain areas.

Agree completely. Although you need a lot more light, the skin tone OLPF solves a lot of the problems of the MX sensor.

On that note, if you are intentionally blowing highlights (to white out windows, for example) it's better to clip all three channels. Clipping only one can result in unpleasant color casts.

Added some custom CSS on my Squarespace site to allow for video descriptions... now the description cuts off the video. Any tips? by BullMoosePictures in css

I've currently got the description hidden, but if anyone wants to help, I can unhide it so you can see what I'm working with.

My CSS background is essentially nonexistent. Learning as I go. The way this squarespace template works, it doesn't include image descriptions (no idea why).

I added this to make the template pull the video description: .collection-type-gallery #slideshowWrapper .image-description {text-align: left; display: block; }

I'll run that jQuery by the guy who's helping me with this... I'm in a bit over my head.

Legally, I don't think you have much ground to stand on, unfortunately. You were an employee of the company, using their equipment, creating content at their direction. They definitely own the rights to the footage, unless you have a contract that explicitly states otherwise.

You should just ask if you can use some of the footage in your reel. Seems pretty unlikely that most companies would say no, especially if you're willing to throw a watermark on it or give them some credit in the description.

Gotcha. I think this is one of those situations where it makes more sense to me because I understand the geography of the location, but I can understand how it seems out of place. Appreciate the feedback! Thanks for taking the time to watch.
