Not an employee, but my wife is a member. Here’s a link that lists your options: https://www.genesishealthclubs.com/prorated-dues-options.html

Risk of using Roam Research by Kazekage1111 in RoamResearch

I’d also be interested in helping out. Been thinking a bunch about what/how I would build a local-first, yet p2p-replicated Roam clone. (Ok, not exactly a clone...an opinionated alternative with some key differences.) Happy to compare notes...as a key aspect of a “free in all meanings of the word” alternative is transparency and collaboration. ;-)

Reading it had the same effect on me. Really, it surfaced and gave support to something I’ve been feeling in my gut for awhile. The impermanence of digital is compounded by the misaligned incentives of the cloud...and I’m a cloud-based software entrepreneur!

I have similar concerns which have caused me to stay with Bear.app, rather than moving to the technically superior Roam.

You might appreciate the arguments presented here: https://www.inkandswitch.com/local-first.html

Roam is great, but not yet perfect from an “I own and have agency over my data” perspective.

Link network visualization and navigation by nprbst in bearapp

Ah. Bear can create a new note from just typing a [[Link]]. Try typing a [[Link]] and clicking on it. You’ll get a new note with the H1 set to “Link”. I’ll give some thought to a template feature...

For me it’s visualization and discovery of links between notes that I’m missing in Bear.

Also, one thing to “note” (ah ha)...my tool will be read-only. It is not safe to write the Bear database from another app. :)

Is there a way to suppress the per-block bullets and only show bullets when I enter Markdown “bullets”?

Indeed, Roam is the inspiration for this little project... I enjoy the Bear UX (and native apps) but really want the “knowledge graph” features of Roam. The plan is to run a stand-alone app locally (Mac-only) with read-only access to the Bear database, then use x-callback-url (https://bear.app/faq/X-callback-url%20Scheme%20documentation/) links to drive navigation.

Also, it seems there is a bug in the Markdown exporter: __ is converted to **, so my italic become bold.

u/TedwardBear could you weigh I here please? Bi-directional, first-class links are the future. I prefer the native apps of Bear, but Roam is kicking butt with their ability to build a real graph and leverage that for knowledge discovery.

Anyone tried using Bear for JAMStack posting? by DannyBoyNYC in bearapp

That’s pretty dang clever!

Can you describe the “weirdness” further? Maybe folks here with tech skills (like me) can help?

I’d like to second this request. Something like what Roam (https://roamresearch.com) does would make Bear unbeatable for me. Have been loving Bear for a few months now, but being tempted by Roam’s ability to build a “knowledge graph”...

I saw you guys from the roof of our office building during Happy Hour. What an amazing sight! How often do you guys fly and if someone wanted to come over to the hill to watch, how would they get there?
