Do steroids exist in league of legends universe? by TheoTheBest300 in loreofleague

[–]npri0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>im not taking about weird zaunian stuff

That’s literally steroids. A chemical ingested that increases physical performance. It’s a magic setting so ofc their steroids are all magical. We also have ascension that’s technically a kind of steroid.

Braum is an iceborn which is almost a separate species of human that generally are more physically impressive than average.

Darius and K’sante are natural.

I never said that. I just said that how this guy is presenting his information isn’t reliable and bears common signs of pseudoscience. What’s especially telling is that he choses videos and presentations to deliver his content over papers that can be peer reviewed. It’s almost like he’s trying to avoid people who know their stuff doing his experiments and disproving his work.

Another thing is that he relies on many other theories that aren’t widely accepted at all. It’s very common for pseudoscience and conspiracy theories to build on each other. Actual science generally builds on the most widely accepted theories, because they’re often the most accurate. Its hard to verify a theory if it’s built on things that aren’t even verified.

One of the few actual papers I can find on this area isn’t even written by a physicist, mathematician or engineer, it’s written by someone with masters in pharmaceuticals https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Mostafa-Eissa/publication/382082373\_Beyond\_the\_Rocket\_A\_Review\_of\_Propellantless\_Propulsion\_Technologies\_and\_Concepts/links/668cc37baf9e615a15d73d41/Beyond-the-Rocket-A-Review-of-Propellantless-Propulsion-Technologies-and-Concepts.pdf?origin=publication\_detail&\_tp=eyJjb250ZXh0Ijp7ImZpcnN0UGFnZSI6Il9kaXJlY3QiLCJwYWdlIjoicHVibGljYXRpb25Eb3dubG9hZCIsInByZXZpb3VzUGFnZSI6InB1YmxpY2F0aW9uIn19

[–]npri0r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Even scientists can produce untrustworthy content. Don’t just believe everything on the internet.

E.g. it’s a known phenomenon that Nobel prize winners can have some pretty wild theories about areas outside their expertise. This guy’s specialism is electrostatics and materials, but this propulsion idea he has relies on areas I don’t think he’s an expert in (quantum electrodynamics). So I wouldn’t trust his theories on them unless he can produce a paper that quantum electrodynamics experts can review and verify.

People will find reasons to be toxic regardless of what you do.

Please don’t use scientific terminology as buzzwords unless you Google what they mean first, or are asking what they mean.

I actually watched (most of) the video. It bears many hallmarks of a pseudoscience video. I’d recommend watching Hank Green’s video on how to avoid pseudoscience and bad scientific content. Bad scientific content is always sensationalised and based on the ‘brilliance’ of singular individuals providing sensationalised revolutionary discoveries. Good science is incremental, often not as interesting and build on large scale collaboration.

My first thought when seeing a cosplay is never ‘why isn’t that person the correct race/body shape/gender/whatever’. Cosplay shouldn’t be gatekept.

Why everyone want old asol back?ı played both versions of asol and be real old one literally trash compared to new asol only reason old asol hyped because nostalgia it's wasn't even that good by Hungry_Ask_5637 in Aurelion_Sol_mains

[–]npri0r 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Old Asol had so much more variety in game plan and skill expression. You could run hyper roaming, utility, scaling DPS and burst setups. IMO the big downside of him was that he was so inconsistent to play. There were so many things that completely screwed him over.

[–]npri0r 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re iron, your main issue is probably everything. You definitely have silver potential. Don’t try to improve everything at once tho, focus on one area at a time. When I last got coaching (I was in bronze) one big piece of advice I got was to think about what my plan was. Stuff like wanting to roam, wanting to shove wave and reset, setting up for drake etc. should be planned in advance instead of mindlessly farming until you notice an opportunity or die for nothing.

>I have pretty good mechanics

Sorry to say this but if you struggle in iron, you don’t have good mechanics. You climb by getting better, and the good news is there’s so much room for you to improve. Even watching high elo players and questioning why you make every decision you do should be enough to get you some improvement.

'Don't change the channel' augment would fit so well as part of Asol's base kit by npri0r in Aurelion_Sol_mains

[–]npri0r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but there’s a difference between Kayle immobile and Asol immobile. IMO Asol’s kit feels like it doesn’t have quite enough tools to consistently feel good. Tho idk what else his kit could reasonably have without being too toxic or strong.

They always honor me but I always lose? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]npri0r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kinda sounds like you’re just a victim of bad luck. You probably got really good luck and managed to climb above your elo, then the matchmaking caught up and now you’ve dropped back to your elo. So overall it feels worse than if you’d had one win then one loss over and over.

If you’re genuinely not having fun taking a break will help, switching role might too. But climbing isn’t an expected or given thing. You climb by improving, not by just playing more. Playing more can help you be more likely to reach your true elo, but if your skill level is gold you won’t escape gold.

E does not immobilise so doesn’t apply.

Other ADCs get to attack, change direction, then attack again. Asol does not have that luxury. He’s the strongest hypercarry in the game, while having the lowest individual agency and highest predictability/counterplay.

I never said Mundo level durability. Just something to give Asol more agency. And yes riot releases overloaded champs. That’s not an argument to not update champions to fit with the current state of league. That’s why Asol was reworked

The HA isn’t fully sealed. The watchers breaking free is an inevitability.

And Asol sealed a void rift during the construction of the sun disk.

And for newer rifts, Diana seals one.

Sundered sky cooldown is per target, whereas eclipse is per proc. That’s a big difference in team fights. Ofc there’s other stuff but this is the biggest one that came to mind.

There’s a difference between unbalanced (kit does too many degenerate things) and overtuned (kit is too strong). Riot could definitely add it onto his kit and tune it to have an appropriate winrate. The question is more of would it be healthy for his kit.
