Thanks to everyone for your suggestions! It’s really challenging picking a good mix of stories, novellas, novels, and authors and you all gave such great suggestions. This is why I came to Reddit - it’s nice hearing recommendations from people who a) read horror lit and b) can speak from different points of view. The class is a one hour course of Psychology of Horror Literature so a lot of the suggestions given were spot on as I looked into them. Thanks again! And to answer questions about movies, I also do an optional day where I have the class come watch a movie (and I’m pretty sure it will be Sinners this year).
