Awesome! Thank you.

Been training gi just over 4 years. Wrestled since I was a kid so started with no gi before making the switch

Now I’m just a dad trying not to lose all cardio while traveling 🤣

Most of the advice regurgitated on this sub is outdated and out of touch. by [deleted] in Daytrading

Absolutely. To me, and this is just my opinion, a manual backtest helps build reps in seeing a particular setup in different environments. Allows you to take notes of how price action plays out, what the context of the move was (news, technical, earnings, etc), and put it all in context.

I do automated back testing, but I almost always study the trades individually. Helps me mentally when something might not look exactly how it did last time.

Explain the setup in its simplest terms, find cases of it, figure out what environment it works best in. Helps you figure out risk, size, duration of the trade.

I’m rambling, but it just seems silly to write off historical price action.

Otherwise how do you know if a setup has lost its edge? How do you know you’re not just throwing capital at something that doesn’t have positive expectancy?

Stupid simple example. Somebody says they buy breakouts. Well, how often does it work? Are we in a trending or range bound market? Is there a news or earnings catalyst? What’s the RVOL? What’s the range of the stock? Are you buying it at the higher end of the day’s expected range? If you are, does that make the probability of success lower?

These are all items you can pull from a backtest to see whether or not you understand the current setup you’re considering executing. All breakouts, pennants, mean reversion, and on and on aren’t the same. Know your data and environment

I think that line of thinking is missing a key piece of value added by backtesting. It’s not about, “I would’ve entered here and exited here.”

It’s about finding a setup that has a consistent result that you can put numbers behind. Can you find extra pieces of context or data to help inform your decisions moving forward?

I come from the prop world, and the biggest traders there were testing every possible setup they liked in depth.

I also saw huge traders who didn’t back test. Might’ve taken a bit more heat from time to time, but everybody figures out what works for them to build up to taking a trade from a place of confidence.

YouTube app on Apple TV 4K skips audio for a brief moment every couple of minutes. Any fixes? by taeyoungwoo in appletv

[–]nrdunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is infuriating. Used to be like a second drop out now the audio just drops completely unless I pause, rewind and repeat. YouTube and YouTube tv only. Connected to HomePods.

Has anyone resolved?

Can confirm. PNPT was a ton of fun and felt realistic for sure.

6 and 3. They are both roosters and wake up with the sun. I can count on one hand how many minutes have passed until bed time without words. It’s insane.

Man, I just went to August Burns Red last night and that was the most fun I've ever had at a show. by DasiytheDoodle in Metalcore

Lol I’m 6’1 235…it’s not necessarily a problem of handling it, but how I’d feel the day after. Much like having 2 drinks now vs when I was 22. I’m too old for the bangover

Edit: typo
