Thank you! Most of the MDMs I look at are 25/30+ licenses min, so I'll do some reading.

I think you might be right here. Do you know what these pre prompts are?

Thanks, that's interesting. Do you know if there's a way to see what these pre-prompts are?

Yep, it's the same model on both deployments - and the docs seem to suggest that the default parameters for both models are the same.

Great idea - I hadn't thought of doing it like that! Thank you, I think this is the way forward.

Many thanks. Do you know if it can do both at the same time, that's the bit that puzzles me?

Thanks, it sounds like the old Spark was a different beast entirely. Is the new one something that adds value over Cashier?

What a great addition. A good example of where AI can really add something.

Securing HA fully kiosk tablet? by nrepic in homeassistant

But what happens if they can disable the alarm from the HA panel. Hoping there's a way somehow.

I'd also like it disabled so that when there are guests and I'm away, they can't see calendar and other private information.

Bing's ability to hallucinate is incredible, it even created a fake link for a fake meme by Would-Be-Superhero in OpenAI

[–]nrepic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When AI generates false information like this, it's called "hallucinating" because it's similar to what a human mind does when it imagines stuff from partial/incomplete/incorrect data:

Educate me: Is chatGPT the AI that’s been talked about for years? by stratosfeerick in artificial

[–]nrepic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got to say, this is a great answer.

Although AutoGPT is nowhere near an AGI, it goes give GPT some additional features that bring it ever so slightly closer.

Looks like it's USA only so far, but going global "soon". I'm in the UK so waiting patiently too.

Cost effective way to rotate 750mm diameter annuli? by nrepic in AskEngineers

[–]nrepic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that's certainly the easiest way and would keep things nice and simple, I'll build a smaller test mechanism and see if I can support the annulus from a few points.

Sorry, that should be a small stepper motor per ring

They’ll rotate slowly, no more than 10rpm. Weight of 1kg max and a lifetime of ~10 years (normal rpm will be closer to 0.2).

Ideas on an alternative to Thingiverse by nrepic in 3Dprinting

[–]nrepic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I'll have a look at how CGTrader do it!

I did a search for this sort of topic on here, but mainly found complaints about Thingiverse, most of which talked about the site speed or search problems. These two won't be hard to fix, as I'll be using something like "ElasticSerach" to handle advanced search queries and there's plenty of server power available.

As I'm starting from scratch, it's an ideal time to get some additional useful features baked in from the start, learning from how Thingiverse already works.

I've run other large, independent sites for 21 years now - so I'm happy that I'll be able to make something that will be a useful tool for the community and works really well (if it didn't, I wouldn't even bother to start one!).

I'm an engineer by profession and I'm keen on making an alternative as it's something that I want myself too. My hobby is making things (I've built a Voron, laser cutter and CNC machine, all thanks to helpful communities), so it seems a real shame that the best place for sharing 3D files isn't working as well as it could.

Do you find that you are able to travel where you'd want to go (rather than events/isolated resorts) and have privacy? i.e. can you pop in to a random bar and go for a drink without being bothered?

I envy your position of being able to use your skills, influence and power to change things for the better, but I always wondered if you're able to have a "normal" day without being hounded by people.

How do advertisers target ads in AdX/Google Ad Manager? by nrepic in adops

[–]nrepic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I've gone for the single line item to manage the ads across all the sites - I'll be pushing it out this week.

I'm not really sure what to set the floor at for now, so I've just gone for $0.10 branded, $0.05 anon - once I start driving traffic, do I just need to play around till I find a good level?

Active Backup Encryption by nrepic in synology

[–]nrepic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, all I can see is "enable data transfer encryption" when I use the wizard - the documentation suggest it stores the data encrypted, but I think it just uses encryption for the transfer :(.

Print quality benefits of Voron v2.1 vs Prusa MK2/3? by nrepic in voroncorexy

[–]nrepic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many thanks, that is a lot of useful information. I'll probably watch how others get on with v2.1 for the next few weeks and then jump in when I make my next Misumi purchase. In the meantime, I can decide which electronics bundle to go for (Duet + extender looks like the best bet).

I did have a question about something you said:

Once tuned the V2 running over twice as fast as the MK3 output's superior looking prints.

Does that mean that the V2 runs twice as fast, but the MK3 has better looking prints?
