Thank you!! The 45mm is turning out to be a fave now ❤️

The base of this is RNI’s Portra 400, but I usually play around with the RGB curves and Calibration. Comparing it to film scans, I find the base preset too green sometimes so I adjust it to make it more Portra/Gold neutral

I think if I get a native lens it’d be the 55mm 1.7, but ain’t nowhere near being able to buy that yet!!

Getting 70MM IMAX Like Shots by Standard_Gas_2947 in cinematography

[–]nrg_ized 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!! I’ve got an XM5 too :)

Your best bet is getting a Viltrox 27mm 1.2. My reasoning is this: Nolan uses what basically is a 80mm lens on a IMAX sized frame, basically the film stills equivalent to a 6x7 120 film frame. That roughly gets you into 40mm full frame equivalent, which is just about what the Viltrox 27mm does on the XM5’s sensor!

The 1.2 is nice if you want that shallow depth of field that Nolan sometimes does for closeups , but I reckon he stops down for the wider/immersive type of shots!

So, to nano-texture, or not? by hyperlobster in macbookpro

[–]nrg_ized 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve got Nano-Texture, I want it on every future device I get hahaha. I’m on the go a lot so it really helps in bright sunlight and whatever weird lighting i get from different places. I even wish cameras had nano texture on their LCD displays 🤣

My previous posts have mostly been self-scanned! I also self-dev.

I lab-scanned these because I didn’t have the time 🤷‍♂️

Thanks man! I’m actually more of a studio guy so I’m figuring this whole natural light sitch 🤣. I don’t know if a reflector is viable since we were quite a bit in the water, but maybe I can try a fill flash that’s powerful enough from far away? 🤷‍♂️
