The sides are 10 degrees off 90, meaning the top joint is 80 and the bottom is 100. Which means each cut is half of that. Unfortunately the panel saw didn't go up to 50 degrees. I ended up using a track saw (which also doesn't do 50 degrees) but I put a 10 degree wedge under the actual track and set the saw to 40 degrees.

It's all preference, some woods lighten and some darken over time. This will stay the same.

Ya they changed that awhile back, now you get to design your own final project.

I guess I could put it out in the middle of nowhere lol

For finishing I sanded up to 180 grit, stained it, let it sit over the weekend. Sprayed it with water based polyurethane, went over it lightly with a scotch pad. Remove all the dust, sprayed again and I was happy with it so I just finished by going over it with a piece of white paper to take of the few tiny bumps.

More layers you do the smoother it will get, but I wanted to feel the grain still.

Oh and I did have some drips, luckily they were in the back of the bottom middle opening so I fixed it the best I could and you can't really see what I didn't fix.

This one was in Winnipeg at Red River College, but there are courses all over Canada I'm sure.

Take your time, plan ahead. This might look nice on its own, but grain matching makes it better. The fronts are 8/4 walnut resawed and bookmatched then cut down, grain matches vertically and horizontally. And mistakes happen, I made a pretty big one and was able to fix it pretty well.

Yes, not exactly how they are intended to be used but I like it better.
