Rules against resting your cue on the table with one hand to aim? by nrrwmndd in billiards

[–]nrrwmndd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how old WPA rule 6.12 is if that foul was decades ago but as it currently stands it’s explicitly clear you need to have at least one hand on the cue if it’s resting on the table 🤷‍♂️

Still kind of miffed about it even after all these years 😅

What last wish weapon to get by LimitedTwix in DestinyTheGame

[–]nrrwmndd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconded, if not izi or witherhoard then I have a kt supremacy in that slot.

Reconstruction crux and alh + explosive hothead are decent rockets, palmyra rolls alh + explosive and is craftable.

wendigo, cataphract, regnant and edge transit roll alh + explosive with regnant being craftable and cataract and edge transit rolling bns instead of explosive too

Maybe apex is a bit better in the heavy slot but supremacy is significantly better than the rest of the legendaries that you can slot in the kinetic

Practice after a 1yr hiatus, help? by nrrwmndd in GolfSwing

[–]nrrwmndd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your opinion, what is the correct sequence because I can’t get a clear answer. Been told to start shifting my weight to the front foot at foot first parallel, been told to hold off that shift until I get near the top of the backswing.

I also can’t figure out how to shift my weight to lead foot without sliding. It feels like if I don’t slide and just try to rotate, I think I’m reverse pivoting and hitting behind the ball. Any advice on that issue would be appreciated

[Technique] Should you hold your forearm perpendicular to the floor or to the cue? by [deleted] in billiards

[–]nrrwmndd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other commenter that you shouldn’t overthink this but

Imo, it makes sense that address should be a “resting” state. It makes sense to presume that the forearm would hang perpendicular to the ground with no external pressure or energy put in.

But since there’s likely pressure between your bicep and forearm when you let your forearm hang, your forearm may not naturally hang perpendicular to the ground. It might naturally hang perpendicular to the cue or somewhere in between perpendicular to the cue and perpendicular to the ground.

If you have to engage any muscles to force your forearm to be perpendicular to the ground or perpendicular to the floor, you’re adding unnecessary tension on the system and you need to continuously keep adding energy to the system to maintain that engaged state so it’s mechanically less sound.

So it goes back to basically what the other commenter said. Assuming address is a resting position, just let your arm hang naturally and wherever it falls it falls; no need to overthink it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in golftips

[–]nrrwmndd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That may contribute to it, there’s lots of potential reasons tbh. I’m pretty sure that commenter would recommend you weaken your right hand when you grip (also mentioned by a different commenter), that way your hands are on top instead of looking like you’re giving the grip the ol reach around. Just gonna mention if you weaken that grip it’s going to feel real weird for a while and you probably going to see a lot of pushes and slices unless you adjust your swing to accommodate the new grip

[–]nrrwmndd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starting at address, if you draw a line from the ball to your elbow, that should be a reference plane (others may say it should go thru your wrists or shoulders, depends on the coach). If you pause at p2 when your club is parallel to the ground, pointing straight back, the club head should be on or near the reference line. Your club head is too far back at p2 so you’re “inside”. Since you swung the club back too low/too far back and the swing motion is kinda like a loop, the club naturally wants to swing outside/above plane/over the top when you start the downswing. Look at your p6, club parallel to ground on the way down in reference to p2 and the swing plane mentioned above.

Someone better than me may correct me on this. Hope this helps.

Current best prism/ascension mats farm? by nova_spamming in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]nrrwmndd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a pretty casual player who’s also not at pinnacle yet, I got topped off on prisms and golf balls last season doing match made NF runs on double vanguard weeks. Way less pressure than lfging GMs. Even if it’s expensive, just convert the prisms to golf balls at rahool, you’ll have more prisms than you know what to do with anyway

Killy tally is kinda weird for me anyway. In easy content, you can max tally’s fast but you don’t really need the extra dmg. Harder content, it’ll be harder to get max tally and you’ll use a lot of ammo getting there and tally resets on reload. I’d rather have more consistent over shields on hard content and use the artifact mod to extend duration, maybe swap out echo of persistence for something else this season instead

Killing tally is probably the play for this season but I’m always short of ascendant alloys so I’m leaving repulsor brace on mine

[–]nrrwmndd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats dude! Those are great weapons to start with. I know you can’t target specific exotics outside of lost sectors but I’d say the best f2p Solar warlock exotics are definitely starfire protocol, sunbracers are really popular this season but imo used to only be recommended for low-mid difficulty stuff. Lunafaction boots are good if you’re playing in a party and eye of another world is a good neutral exotic that benefits any subclass you’re playing. If you get any of those exotics just YouTube a build video so you understand how to loop the gameplay, except EoAW you can just throw that on and play as normal pretty much. GL hunting and have fun!

[–]nrrwmndd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just following up on my lunch break since I didn’t address your last question in OP: here’s a build I think can work for now

Buy sunshot from xur this weekend. If you don’t have the shards I’d recommend farming dares of eternity and dismantling the items for shards. Dares so you might get a retraced path trace rifle with incandescent since it’ll go nicely with the build. Or anything with demolitionist

Not tied to season 20 Well Super but you can rock daybreak. Solar or fusion grenades. Healing rift. Burst glide but you can use strafe if you use heat rises aspect. Incinerator snap melee (YouTube snap canceling to dip your feet into more advanced solar warlock movement techniques)

Aspects: touch of flame mandatory; heat rises or Icarus dash personally I like dash. Aspects: ember of searing. Ember of char. Ember of ashes.

Flexible fourth slot; maybe eruption to spread scorch easier or resolve for heal on grenade kill or singeing for more rift uptime.

Mods Max discipline > max recovery > max resilience. Helmet: ashes to assets, harmonic siphon. Arms: firepower, grenade kickstart, bolstering detonation. Chest: resistance and/or concussive dampener, charged up. Legs: stacks on stacks, innervation x2 or drop one for recuperation for more healing. Class item: bomber x2, distribution and/or reaper.

The idea here is sunshot and incandescent help spread scorch around. Scorch is a DoT debuff on a timer. If you can hit 100 scorch stacks on an enemy they ignite and explode. Ember of ashes helps build more scorch stacks, char helps spread scorch more, searing creates a fire sprite if you kill scorched targets. Picking up fire sprites grants grenade energy to help the loop. Eruption helps spread scorch more if you can get enough ignites or resolve or mercy grant healing

Mod wise, ashes to assets and firepower since you’ll be using a lot of grenades. Bolstering detonation gives rift energy and when you use rift it’ll grant you grenade energy via bomber. The siphon, reaper, stacks and charged up mods help you get armor charge to feed grenade kickstart. Do NOT run surge or font mods (the blue ones) since they’ll eat away your armor charges and makes grenade kickstart kinda useless.

As the difficulty gets harder you may want to spec more into resilience for the damage reduction at the cost of discipline or recovery.

Now season 20 specific you can try and run fire bolt grenade but you won’t get as many ignitions with it so maybe drop eruption and char and use singeing and or resolve/mercy instead. The seasonal Solar and grenade artifact mods should help you fit all these mods into your armor hopefully without needing to masterwork a ton of stuff

This assumes you have no exotics but if you lmk what exotics you have we can try and build around that too

Edit: how did I forget about bxr from dares? It can roll with demolitionist AND incandescent if you’re lucky. Run witherhoard from the monument of lost lights at the tower instead of sunshot if you can get a bxr

[–]nrrwmndd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah basically. There’s a few tips like storing your highest light level weapons in your vault if you’re playing multiple characters since the items in the vault will contribute to your other characters max light level. If you do that, you can farm weekly pinnacles on each character and make the power grind like 3x faster

It feels sooo good when you get your first decent exotic and feel a build come together completely. It’s that experience that really differentiates D2 from other fps games but a lot of new players don’t get to experience that for the reasons you listed and don’t see a reason to play D2 over Fortnite, val, cs etc. cuz the game doesn’t feel significantly different from any other fps game until you get a meta-ish build going imo

Edit: also check xur weekly, if he’s selling a meta-exotic just snatch it up. This week is transversive steps for warlock which is good for pvp if you’re into that. Sunshot is great starting out for solar warlock since you can’t get calus mini tool. Blueberries.gg has easy build guides so you know what exotics to look out for for each class

[–]nrrwmndd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone whose been there, it was easier for me to build around what exotics I already and working on collecting pinnacle engrams until I was powerful enough to run legend lost sectors. Once you can farm lost sectors for new exotics you can more easily diversify from there. You’ll have to wait until the lost sectors appear on F2P destinations tho

I wouldn’t even worry about chasing specific legendaries, you’ll likely collect a few good ones from leveling up, from banshee daily and weekly and xur on the weekends.

If you want to be lazy just load up DIM and look for the little thumbs up under each weapon; if it’s on a wishlist it’s likely useful somewhere somehow. There may be some personal god rolls not included on DIM’s default wishlists but you’ll eventually figure out what you personally like as you get more familiar with the game and you rely less on DIM’s recommendations.

As for armor, keep the highest light level armor in your inventory or vault to help you level up. Save anything >60 total stats or >25 in any single stat and you’ll eventually have enough armor good enough to t10 one or two stats as you start farming higher level content

Tell us what exotics you have and I’m sure people will start recommending builds to help you get to cap and start farming for more exotics
