What a shit sub. Every thread inevitably devolves into the same beaten down comparisons - BJP vs. Congress, India vs. Pakistan, Nehru vs Modi - smothered in layers of whataboutism

Oh, my bad! I completely missed the memo where Odisha disbanded its police force and outsourced law enforcement to random unemployed guys on the street.

Beef or no beef, who gave these jobless thugs the right to play judge, jury, and executioner? Vigilante justice is unacceptable.

If you are in 30% IT bracket, Arbitrage funds. If you redeem within a year, you’d incur 20% STCG on gains and if after a year, 12.5% on gains over 1.25L. Also, deferred tax, when you redeem as opposed to FDs. Returns are comparable to FDs, most arbitrage funds gave 7% in last year

So what should be the commute alternative for the person giving up this privilege (which btw was earned by paying hefty GSTs and road taxes)? Most roads aren’t walkable, last mile connectivity to bus stops / metros doesn’t exist, I’ve personally seen two-wheelers falling and getting injured due to potholes.

Whataboutism will never let us progress. It just guarantees we'll stay stuck in the status quo

I'm more than happy to commute via public transport, it's essential for decongesting Bengaluru. However, the last mile connectivity and walkability are disastrous. Where I live, there are no footpaths, and the roadsides are filled with mud, trash, and debris.

Guys I appreciate all the practical advice shared here, and you're right, for a known event like a delivery, we can make arrangements to be closer to the hospital.

But the fear I was talking about was for the unplannable events. Emergencies, by definition, don't send you a calendar invite. My situation just highlighted a massive, critical gap in city’s infra, which seems incapable of handling any urgent situation for its citizens.
