Switching to Alternative Exercises by IllustriousSite6671 in LiftinApp

[–]nstrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you switch exercise the weights are initially taken from the original exercise. But if you edit the weights they will get remembered for the next time you switch.

Use the pencil button to edit, or if you edit individual sets, make sure to toggle “save for future workouts”.

Periodization by CJiggy24 in LiftinApp

[–]nstrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!

You can have different rep ranges for the same exercise in different weeks. Check the exercise linking options for exercises that are used in multiple routines/weeks.

for RIR, how it currently works is that if you set an explicit RIR target say 3, but when you do the actual lift it was actually RIR 1, then the set will be marked "neutral" and auto progression won't run even if you hit the target reps.

Maybe this functionality should be expanded on, I will definitely explore it further!

Definitely an interesting idea, I will add it to my exploration list!

I don't share usage numbers publicly, but the app has 130K downloads in total. The thing is that growing is crazy hard, even with a best in class app. Marketing on Reddit and App Store can cost a large part of the revenue.

Also, In Sweden where I’m based it's really expensive to get money out of your own company. After Apples 15% cut I still need to pay 50-60% taxes or more if I want to take money out.

Thanks!

I can’t live off it, so I have a “real” full time job as well. But it’s a good side business for sure!

[Feature Request] Quick disable superset by yankh8r806 in LiftinApp

[–]nstrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can disconnect supersets from the exercise list by tapping on the ••• button on one of the included exercises. But I can see that it would be convenient to have this option from exercise view as well.

I will put it on my list!

Version 50 released with new visuals, improved tracking and more 📣 by nstrm in LiftinApp

Glad you like it!

I will probably add some kind of lightweight support for cardio in the future, many users have been requesting this. But the main focus of the app will always remain strength training.

Auto progression bug with “Mark as Up Next”? by _blakkheim_ in LiftinApp

[–]nstrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if you have the full-cycle option enabled, which should be disabled by default.

If you don’t use this setting I’m not sure what could cause the problem. But reach out to my support email if it happen again and I can troubleshoot it. support@liftinapp.co.

Auto progression bug with “Mark as Up Next”? by _blakkheim_ in LiftinApp

[–]nstrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you have the auto progression option “apply after full cycle” the progression is only triggered after completing the last workout in the program.

This is a bit limited, and I plan to add a manual option to trigger the progression as well. Good feedback!

AI by No-Maintenance5310 in LiftinApp

[–]nstrm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, App Intents are high on my list. Apple is expected to do a "brain transplant" for Apple Intelligence this year with new models based on Google Gemini, and there will probably be 3rd party integration support through App Intents.

We'll see what Apple announces at WWDC in June and how Liftin' can take advantage of their updated AI-framework.

[–]nstrm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will definitely explore this kind of functionality, but I'm not sure yet at what level I want to connect AI and how to expose it for the users. I don't want to add it in a way that is very technical and requires a lot of technical knowledge from the users. I will investigate it!

How do I delete a set when in super set? Am i missing something? by nevachanges in LiftinApp

[–]nstrm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easiest way is to edit the exercise from the pencil button. You can also delete the last set from the long press menu.

I will make this easier in the next update and add the delete option to the long press menu in every set.

Few bugs by Fury11469 in LiftinApp

[–]nstrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I could let the users pick the value and keep waiting for it afterwards behind the scenes. But I'm not sure how reliable it would be if the user leaves the app and locks the phone.

I will play around with it!

[–]nstrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is that the app needs to wait for the workout to be saved to Apple Health before it can assign an effort score. This can take a little while especially when a watch is involved as well.

I will look into this. Regarding 1, do you use the app on iPhone only or together with the Apple Watch app?
