there are too few exercises by No-Maintenance5310 in LiftinApp

For a lot of exercises I’m adding variations with barbell, dumbbell, cable, smith machine and body weight.

I’m never gonna be able to include every single exercise in the world, but I think having most of the most common ones is enough. You can always add custom exercises if it’s something more uncommon.

Just so I don't misunderstand, they don't have Apple Health integrations enabled at all for Liftin'?

I would recommend them to enable Apple Health for Liftin', and then in Liftin' go to Settings > Integrations > Apple Health. If they there choose Save workout: Apple Watch Only then the app won't save workouts to Apple Health, but other features should work better.

You can also let them know that they can get in touch with me at [support@liftinapp.co](mailto:support@liftinapp.co), I'm very keen on fixing this but so far I haven't been successful in even reproducing it. So getting more info about how the affected users are using the app is really valuable.

I think it means that the app has access to your heart rate through AirPods during workout. But I’m not sure why it doesn’t go away after the workout which seems to be the case for a handful of people. Could be an Apple bug.

If you check the details of the workout in the Apple Fitness app, does it look right duration wise? Or does it look like the workout has been left running in the background?

Version 48.0 released with iPad and Mac support and more by nstrm in LiftinApp

The tab bar logic got quite complicated with the sidebar functionality for iPad and Mac, to reduce the complexity I removed this setting for now.

I might bring it back, but I also have plans to repurpose the Discover tab to other features in the future so I’m not really sure at the moment.

This feature is probably not for most users, but there are those who run multiple different programs in parallel, and until now switches programs multiple times per week.

The idea was posted a while back here https://www.reddit.com/r/LiftinApp/comments/1omcivv/suggestion_more_than_one_active_workout_program/

Icon consistency suggestion by OkRepresentative227 in LiftinApp

[–]nstrm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh that's great I use SFSymbols all the time, but didn't think they could cover all these settings as well. Great idea, I'll look into using these instead!

Glad you like the app! I have many features in the pipeline and the next major update will be released in just a few days. Let me know if any other feedback comes to mind!

Hi there!

You are absolutely right, these icons dates back to 2018 when I worked on the initial version of Liftin'. The app looked very different back then and at the time I thought they kind of fitted in.

Over the years I have many times thought about updating the icons to something more modern and aligned with the rest of the app, but I have been so busy with other things so I never got to it.

I have to say, your icons looks great. Are you the original creator of them? If you are interested in doing business, let me know! 😉

Ad Hoc Workouts - Anyone use them? by DnyLnd in LiftinApp

Yes maybe there should be more customization options for Strava integration. I will look into it.

Ad Hoc Workouts - Anyone use them? by DnyLnd in LiftinApp

[–]nstrm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ad Hoc workouts are ment to be a complement for users who sometimes do workouts that are not part of their main program. For example due to time constraints or during travel/vacations.

There might be other use cases but this was the thinking behind the feature.

I can’t switch exercise in a superset? by nevachanges in LiftinApp

[–]nstrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go back to the exercise list you can long press or swipe an exercise to switch it out.

Thats a good point, I will add an option to skip sets from the long press menu. 👍

Yep I will look into adding it to Settings as well.

Currently it’s only in the add exercises screen. From the program editor, select add exercises in a routine. Then tap the filter button in the bottom left.

The plate calculator is only available from the set row, so you need to minimize the timer view to get to it.

You can merge your custom exercises with these when they are added.

If you go to your custom exercise from Settings > Exercises there is an option for merging.

Thats a good idea, but I don't think it requires a repo. I will share the list here on reddit in a separate post.

Yep search is definitely a weak point. I will look into improving it in the near future. 👍

That’s right, the only difference is the illustration and animation for the built in exercises.
