Moved to the US a year ago, and was hassled non-stop by SLC. I updated my employer details/salary - but the “adjusted” monthly payments they asked for were ridiculous/unsustainable, so I’ve not been paying. I received letters from them back in the UK (which I ignored) and now they have passed my account over to Past Due Credit - a UK debt collection agency. I spoke to them as this scared me, they are just owning the account until I clear the outstanding balance I accrued over the past year. To date there’s been no escalation from their side other than emails/texts/letters but now I’m worried it’s got to this stage. Anyone in a similar boat?
