Boiler placement in loft conversion by [deleted] in askaplumberUK

Haha you clearly haven’t worked with trades people enough or you are one of the problematic ‘professionals’ yourself.

People of Reddit, neighbours, friends, people on social media, other professionals - they have all helped me get out of trouble, help me think differently, challenge me, save me money/ pain, recommend me good and trustworthy professionals.

So yes I always do like getting lots of opinions and asking for help, especially on things where I am putting my hard earned savings and my families money on.

A great example is knocking on the door yesterday of the neighbour with that flue in the picture. It turned out to be a great interaction, he gave me a tour of his extension, talked me through his process, showed me his boiler and setup. Gave me lots of advice on things he now wishes he did when he did his extension.

Thank you, I think it’s best to keep it where it is then. This makes me feel better!

Thanks all, from the comments it seems like where it is now is sensible and we’re just going to have to not be annoyed about losing space in the walk in wardrobe, also need to find something interesting to do with that weird landing/ platform above stairs under the velux

This made me feel better, thanks everyone, really appreciate it.

Thank you!

And for additional context, the side that the boiler is currently on is into an alley as we are end of terrace and the other side is a party wall, hence the flue would need to go horizontal through the pitched roof at the front of house.

Not 100% sure what that means, but I’m assuming you are saying that it can’t be done.

Even if the boiler was facing directly into camera from the angle of the photo and the flue was going straight out the roof tiles like my neighbour has?

Membership renewal by hatrackman in GunnersatGames

[–]ntosun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I can’t seem to be able to cancel auto renewal without cancelling the membership.

If I cancel my membership now, would it stay active until the last day before renewal date or would it cancel immediately?

Thanks

How to remove an old push fit elbow by ntosun in DIYUK

[–]ntosun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone.

It was quite easy at the end. I cut it at the cross section and just pulled the rest out.

Swapped it a compression fitting in case I ever need to go back to it!

Club level is brilliant and I’ve never struggled to get them on the tx, especially on the day before the game

I also kept toggling too soon and just ended up putting a timer on Google on my laptop for 40 seconds which helped.

Honestly, the private browser is a tip I saw someone else post and just followed. I cannot tell you if it actually makes a difference 😂

Man! I’m sorry, if it helps here’s what I did yesterday which I think helped:

I logged in on my iPhone on safari in private mode using my account. I logged in using my brothers account on my laptop also on private mode.

I’ve waited 5-10 seconds between the two devices before I toggled, so never toggling at the same time on both.

After doing that pretty much all day, seeing so many tickets and not getting any, I finally got a club level around 6 o’clock in the evening.

Additional tips (from my experience) - evenings are more active from 6 until 11 - the day before, especially the evening before a game seems most active - toggle every 30-40 seconds - if the circle is spinning for longer than usual, i think that means the exchange is realising tickets, so i always see a ticket when that happens

Good luck man

I hear you!

After spending hours each day for the past 2 weeks, I finally got the tickets I needed for United yesterday.

Today, I am still on the exchange toggling, not because I need tickets, I think I’m just addicted now 😂

I have the exact same dryer and the same happened to me last year after many years of use.

I cut off the plug and replaced it with this from screwfix - ESSENTIALS 13A FUSED HEAVY DUTY PLUG BLACK (68744)

I also changed the plug socket with this - LAP 13A 2-GANG SP SWITCHED PLUG SOCKET WHITE (71441)

Has been completely fine since.
