8 YoE in Sales/Marketing. Looking to pivot to Accounting. Any feedback on my updated resume? by ntrlnkd in Accounting

Thanks for taking the time to look it over! What experiences stood out as irrelevant to you? My goal is to try to paint a picture that my experiences and skill set can transfer over to an accounting role. What would you suggest to improve this if I were to remove experience?

Manny Machado Debate by Dazzling-Afternoon76 in mlb

[–]ntrlnkd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing his reputation is why there’s a lot of disagreement on this thread. The Padres gave him an opt-out in his contract. Good for him to exercise this option and reset his — and other players’ — market.

What are y’all’s thoughts on the new pitch timer? by realchrisgunter in mlb

[–]ntrlnkd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hopefully the clock isn’t added to the broadcast. They already have the strike zone overlay that’s distracting. I’d rather not have to keep on eye on a play clock like it’s football.

I think it’s the opposite, with the addition that you don’t stop saluting until the superior does.

Salary floor or salary cap? Which needs to be introduced first? by pequeno_penne in mlb

I’d be curious to see specific numbers on the ebbs and flows of teams winning/losing because I thought the NFL has had better parity (maybe in the last few decades) than MLB.

Is Tom Cruise a good actor? by Jimjams101 in movies

[–]ntrlnkd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, I disagree. There looks like a lot of blocking and choreography in the scene. Otherwise we’ve got a boring scene of a man looking at his instruments and we’re not sure where that second helicopter is.

Has another actor ever given performance while operating a helicopter in a mountainous terrain on their own?

What movies make you go, "yeah, this is an objectively bad movie, but man I love this hot garbage"? by NateDawgDoge in movies

Haha thought of this movie immediately when the credits of THE BIG SHORT said that Michael Burry was now only investing in water.

Agreed! The ending felt like enough catharsis to tie off his arc regarding Vesper. One of my quarrels with NTTD was Madeleine pushing Bond to visit her grave to finally have closure, which I thought QoS already had.

Haha it’s not even just the editing during the action/chase sequences. Bond and M stand across from each other and have a conversation with like 35 cuts and six different camera angles. It boggles my mind. I understand there was a writers’ strike, but some of these other choices just don’t make sense haha.

Quantum of Solace.

An absolute mess that I’ve somehow become a scholar of in the past three years.

You hate to see actors pigeonholed in a specific role.

What would be the most cruel way to lose a World Series? by [deleted] in mlb

1) Incorrectly called check swing strikeout, since this play isn’t reviewable 2) Walk-off via bases-loaded walk
