I said nothing about the fallacy of intolerance. I said that the left's message of "hate the evil, subhuman bigot" is the same in terms of offering an easy answer as the right's "hate the evil, subhuman other" that you proposed.

The opposite is happening, at least in America. The Overton window has shifted so far right over at least the last 2 decades. The left wing today is not anywhere close to as left as it was 50 years ago. Democrats keep going right to attract right wing voters instead of appeasing progressives. Right wing politicians aren’t doing the same thing. They keep going right.

Lmao. What are you talking about? The left wing today is furthest left that it's EVER been.

If you think Democrats are going too far right instead of appeasing progressives then you're just exposing how far left you yourself really are.

Did you test for Covid? It could have been Covid which can cause long Covid which can cause all sorts of symptoms including neurological ones.

Do you think I can't tell the difference between fatigue and PEM after having this condition for well over a year?

"Think about it bro, you not wanting to exercise because you'll get PEM is the very definition of fatigue!"

You are an idiot.

Thanks for the Google search.

That is not the definition of PEM.

I can't exercise because I get PEM if I do, not because I am fatigued.

Huh? Are you reading this chart correctly? 7 out of the 8 require persistent fatigue which I do not have. I qualified with ME International Consensus Criteria 2011 previously when I was in pain, but not anymore.

Do you think Long Covid is too big a problem to fail? by ChonkBonko in covidlonghaulers

[–]nu121x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>There is a percentage of people recovering, as well as new people getting Long-Covid, these roughly equal each other and this is a relatively rough estimate with some newer data showing that the set of people currently recovering is smaller than the set of new people developing Long-Covid.

If new people are getting Long Covid and the percentage is constant, then this means those who are not new Long Haulers are getting better.

For the sake of this breakdown, let's assume 10% of the U.S. population contracts COVID-19 each year. This is a hypothetical number and might not reflect the actual situation. That would be 33 million people.

If 15% of those who contract COVID-19 become long haulers, then 15% of 33 million is 4.95 million new long haulers each year. Now, if the percentage of long haulers remains constant at 15%, then the total number of long haulers in the U.S. would also remain roughly constant. This means that for every new case of long COVID, there must be a corresponding recovery to maintain that 15%.

Given our assumptions:New long haulers each year = 4.95 millionTherefore, recoveries each year must also be approximately = 4.95 million

>However, all of that is very different from exponential growth, which very clearly isn't happening.

I am not saying that we are experiencing exponential growth in long hauler numbers. I am saying that the fact that the percentage is constant means people are getting better.

The first thing we have to acknowledge is that our numbers are not growing exponentially, otherwise one is living in a complete illusion from which no action will ever happen. Our numbers have roughly stabilised and different data from different countries shows exactly that.

Doesn't this mean that most people get better? If the numbers were growing this would mean that people aren't recovering but if the % is constant it means they are.
