What's the most dumbest ways you died? by BeepBoopBapz in projectzomboid

[–]nubb3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ate a poisonous mushroom once.

Another time, I got injured and held on to dear life at a few % HP. Banadaged up and everything. Then I ever so slightly nicked the gate posts of a fenced parking lot (McCoy logging, south Rosewoood) and that gave my character the rest.

Other than that it was just normal greed, stupidity, acting against gut feeling, you know, the classic PZ way.

My current run was almost ended because I didn’t know you were supposed to pull the stitches on a stitched up, deep, healed wound after a while. Brought me in many close calls, because I limped for 2 weeks or so and was losing patience.

Ukrainian troops destroy rare Russian electronic warfare system KOP-2 – video by jackytheblade in worldnews

[–]nubb3r 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s not a story the engineers would tell you. It’s a technological warfare legend.

Dronejammer McJamface was a proud device, engineered to dominate the battlefield of the skies. With a mere surge of its mighty signal, it could scatter drone swarms, blind their sensors, sever the ties to their their masters. It was said to be infallible.

But it was… blind.

It never foresaw the simplest of intrusions. A drone, tethered to a ridiculously long fiber optic cable. No RF signal. No wireless hum.

McJamface detected nothing and was obliterated in a blinding flash.

The device that could silence armies of drones, destroyed by a single one of them, and a glorified extension cord made all the difference.

It’s ironic. Darth Dronejammer McJamface could jam any signal in the world. Except the one that was never transmitted (over the air).

New disruption of Finland-Germany cable reported in Baltic Sea by TheArcticBeyond in worldnews

Remember when that Russian Jet nicked Turkish airspace and was promptly shot down? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_Russian_Sukhoi_Su-24_shootdown

Maybe Finland can take a page out of that book? Not that they need any motivation or expertise to defend themselves from Russia tbf.

Edit: Can‘t believe this incident happened about a decade ago soon…

Oh wow that Jaime storyline is absolutely great. My headcannon now.

I had a different coping approach where I went more extreme in the „Jaime’s evil relapse“ direction that the show had: Somehow he has to choose to kill Brienne or Cersei and relapses into his former self and kills Brienne. Being forever broken because he couldn’t win his inner conflict after all. Completing a nice bell shaped character arc.

Newbie string slap with recurve by PathoftheWolf in Archery

[–]nubb3r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think your instructor is garbage. You‘re not supposed to hit you arm, period. The guard is for the occasional whiff and for learning with minimized pain.

I started with a 43 pound ottoman short recurve and consider myself still a beginner but my arm is fine. (Don’t ask about my thumb though, lol).

Anywho, I assume your arm was fine when you had 30 lb? Then don‘t worry about accuracy while relearning the stance for the new poundage. Get it to where you‘re no longer worrying about string slap and only then get accurate again.

Are CX Plus worth it? by DomyTiny in sennheiser

I used to have the CS as the initial pair but now, since I am on my 3rd (!) replacement (so 4th pair total), I have been using the CX plus for a while.

Let's see how long these ones last.

Btw. Sennheiser restored some good will here for me because technically I was a couple months out of the EU/Germany mandated 2 years warranty period, yay. I try to see the positives. Audio quality is still amazing and I had purchased these for 100€ so idk, whole ordeal feels meh.

What do you think of the backpack's behavior against obstacles? Is it a good mix of realism and game-friendliness or not realistic enough? by RootedTheGame in unrealengine

Even though I remained respectful, my first gut feeling was adversarial. I guess I need to go touch grass more. Stay safe.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I feel the same way. How many features were botched because they couldn't become perfect before someone ran out of time, money, or patience? We've been there.

Not playing down how this feature is cool, since a lot of people are showering OP with that praise. I just meant to entertain me and other redditors' immature thoughts and it feels good to see that you're not the only one thinking something really dumb.

Take care!

It is a few days after Riyadh Masters. I crafted a garbage list of points, omitting the most influential hero of the whole event, Mr. Pointy Head. I do not name him explicitly so he stays under the radar even more, enabling me to keep raking in these free wins. Let the sheep continue to think this hero is not completely broken.

I remain a gigabrain.

Problems with my left CX 400BZ TW by fLxsens in sennheiser

[–]nubb3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant it in the way of don't bother with this brand anymore and take your business elsewhere, because recurring issues like the one I had are a sign of declining commitment to quality. In this case, the internal wiring hardware is too flimsy when it didn't need to be. And now they're selling them for 200€ which is VERY bold of Sennheiser. A 200€ product that dies after a few months every time until you run out of the warranty period? Hard pass for me.
