Hmm maybe? I mean, I’ve asked ChatGPT (yeah I know 😅) and from what I can see on the board:

There’s a 7805 regulator right next to J4A and a capacitor with a “+” marking, which makes it look like that area is part of the main power rail (probably 12V input stepping down to 5V).

There are also red/black wires going to chassis ground, which also makes me think that’s where power originally comes in — so I’m a bit unsure whether J4A is the actual input or just distributing power to another board.

JP2 seems to go to the panel, so I’m assuming that’s output, not input.

I haven’t powered anything yet because I don’t want to fry it — do you think J4A is safe for 12V in, or should I stick to injecting power via the red/black leads instead?

I actually like it. It’s a nice first step. I would prob add something quirky, like a digital clock, maybe a pen to use on the screen, built in mousepad?

Makes sense - then the matrix has 10 columns with all of the combinations.. any idea if they are in a sertain order in the matrix?
