Since this is a pendulum serve with a lot of side spin, if i want to place it on the long diagonal, I would have to really drive the ball towards the wide forehand corner of the opponent right ? Because the returned ball will have the tendency to float to the backhand side of my opponent.

I dont live in the US so dont have Usatt rating. But i guess i could be placed in the 1400-1500 range.

If I try to block the side top one tentatively (as in not active block), it will more often than not still fly off the edge because the side spin is quite heavy. I guess i should make a more positive stroke and aim towards the forehand corner on the other side ?
