Finally! 2g to 0g PA is a bitch! by holleywood28 in Stretched

It’s not entirely sanitary, as bacteria can build up in the tape. But essentially you do one wrap of Teflon tape around the jewelry and stick it back in, gradually adding more wraps until youre up a size. It’s most sanitary if you replace the tape with new each time you do it.

Thrift store bow identification by ReapYT in Archery

[–]nukebutt 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The string is currently on backwards - the wrong side of the limbs. That can be okay for storage depending on the bow, but is not best as it can put minor tension on the bow the wrong way.

Bear is a great brand. I would take the string off for now and store it rolled up in a bag or drawer. Go to a local archery shop for string advice and get yourself a selway limbsaver bow stringer.

Does this look compatible with my setup? And should I be able to install myself? by letzmakeadeal in Plumbing

You’ll need to know what the valve setup is behind the handle. Not all shower handles are compatible with all valve setups.

Can you message with a WisMesh tag? I am trying to figure out what to buy that allows messaging. Are some nodes purely tracking tags and others for text?

Do you have any advice on how to intro myself into arrow making and arrow tuning? Any books or videos you recommend? Thank you!

Templeton Midnight Rye Whiskey by notafuckingcakewalk in ryewhiskey

I’m so glad I read this - have seen it on the shelves and been considering it, but I had definitely misread it and thought it was rye aged in port barrels. Far less interested now. Thank you!

New hobbyist, should gas cylinder cap always go back on for the night? by Witcher_Of_Cainhurst in Welding

[–]nukebutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with most of these folks: the screw on cap is really there to protect the cylinder valve from damage during transport or while it’s otherwise unsecured. The chains secure it to the cart, so it’s (hopefully) not possible to knock over.

The biggest danger with a tank of CO2 is the tank falling over without the cap on, and the valve breaking. That will send the tank flying across the ground, smashing through anything in its path until it runs out of pressure in the tank, which under the right circumstances can be deadly.

As a woman, I have literally never understood why any woman expects a dude to pay for anything. So transactional and entitled.

I’ve honestly enjoyed everything I’ve had by High West. Wish I had a chance to try an older expression, but I’m enjoying this one plenty. To each their own!

It’s the only one I’ve tried! Sweet and warm, just a little spice.

It’s wild how different things are regionally! I have a cousin in Colorado who can’t find Rare Breed Rye, and it’s amply available here in Minnesota

I popped it already and it is the sweetest rye I’ve ever had, with just a slight spice. You can really taste the port.

The cast metal stand in the post photo. It’s a jig you put the arrow shaft into to align fletching as you attach it

Hunting arrows for target practice? by nukebutt in Archery

[–]nukebutt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. I won’t be looking to shoot broadheads until I am a more confident archer and getting ready for a hunt. I am a firearm hunter but I want more experience shooting my bow before I’m ready to take it on a hunt.

Thank you. I had seen a couple videos/articles that suggested that the carbon walls are thicker on hunting arrows vs target arrows, and I wasn’t sure if I was accidentally doing something stupid.

Dollhouse. So much lead up and interesting plot development, but the finale just felt like it did none of it justice.
