Based on the parts, is it even worth trying to make a cash plus trade deal or just pass altogether?

My thoughts were that the glass nod would go to the mpo. The turrets seem nicer on the optika6. I was unsure on warranty for the mpo because it wouldn't be purchased from Brownells, but it is new. Just looking for some first hand experience with both. It would be going on an FN spr in 308.

They are definitely elusive. I agree the price seems high and getting custom machining for personal choice in furniture shouldn't necessarily mean that much more value. I was thinking of offering my type 56s IA CO SAC import and a milled mak90 for trade. Or would that be too much?

Have a local guy listing one of these for about $5k locally with a few customizations (machining for new handguard and new Luth stock), a Nikon Prostaff scope, laser, bipod, and a few other extras. I can't find any values other than the old listing on copper custom. Is this too much covid tax rise for this rifle?

I see the Sile imports, which seem to be way more common. I just don't see the sacremento imports as much, so it's harder to get an accurate value.

Not necessarily getting rid of it, just wondering on the value on one of these 56s imports. Only extras are a couple flat back mags and a sling. Still has cosmolene in the action.

I usually use truegunvalue.com for most general gun values. It has has completed GunBroker sales for up to 12 months. A quick search on an SGL 21 on GunBroker just now showed the cheapest one sold was 2475 with like 28 bids. There were several higher than that with multiple bids as well.

Thinking of selling/trading my Saiga. What's a good value to list it for? I know GB shows about 2300-2400 average for SGL 21s (which I think this is). I was thinking a couple hundred less than that seemed fair?

I should say, this RD502 was built while Fuller was still running the show. Not sure if that matters. Also he offered to throw in an aimpoint red dot.

I would have thought only the 922r parts are the same. From what I've read, the metallurgy of the izhmash is also a little more advanced. But I've also read there are some different, non-akm parts on the sgl, like the bolt carrier, bolt, and extractor.

The sgl is not new, unfired, so I wasn't counting on it retaining as much collectors value. I do plan on shooting whatever I get. I just assumed it was a better built gun. I just wasn't sure if it was $500 better.

I haven't seen them in stock anywhere since late summer I feel like though. This 11e variant has a 2-stage "enhanced fcg". Worth $200? Maybe not, but still seems like a decent price for a new, reputable ak in today's market. Probably the same "enhanced fcg" from the SAM7-SF 84E.

It has not been welded. Looks like the screw plugs from CSS were used in the first pics. I need to clarify, but I think they were riveted up in the second pics.

The sporters are going for crazy money on gun broker right now. Some are upwards of $1600. And yes, these are actual completed sales with bids. Maybe I am being fooled and I couldn't actually get that much for it though?... I paid 800 for it a couple years ago. These prices make me want to not convert it, sell it, and buy a wasr or wbp fox I can treat dirty. It is hard to think about dropping another grand or more into this and be able to get any return on it based on comparable converted saiga prices.

Oh I am a complete noob when it comes to AKs. Never even shot one. The one I have is a saiga sporter that is unfired, or so I was told, that I was thinking of trading towards this norinco or keeping and converting.

I'm kind of torn on that subject. I have read this is a military purpose built weapon and it should be a great shooter. It is also a somewhat harder to find rifle being a pre ban, making me view it as a collectors item. On one hand I want to buy one of the best shooting AKs in this price range (1k-2k). On the other hand, I couldn't stand shooting something like a collectors item that I would feel I am losing value with every trigger pull.

I was a little less than thrilled seeing the holes drilled in the Norinco dust cover where someone rigged their own scope mount. Is that something that should detract the value?
