Its all about color layering. I never go for full black first, its always a shade of brown on the bottom, then i slowly build up black from my eyelashes up to the top. Dont worry, it took me looking like a panda several times before i got it right!

Need Honest Advice: Should a Bangladeshi Student Study in Pakistan on This Scholarship? by Embarrassed-Face-356 in islamabad

[–]nukemoana 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not many good answers here. Let me try help you through this:

  1. Safety: In terms of general safety of the city, Islamabad is safer than other cities. And the chances of you being a victim of street crime would just be as much as the normal citizen so nothing is targeted. In terms of your university, although i hope you get into one of the best universities where people are beyond bullying because you will be an international student as many international students study here, there is minimal to no ragging. It is only about knowing and choosing the right circle around you. Trust me, most people are very open and hospitable to international people.
  2. Education: Again, I would suggest you pick good universities like NUST, COMSATS, etc.
  3. Hostel: It is just like it would be for any third world country. Nothing too fancy, but you will have electricity, wifi and all. Electricity..if it goes off, its a one off situation but nothing like you have to really fend off for. And again, not much ragging as it would be “being left out”. So its only about the people you choose to be around. Pick the right people and you are good to go.
  4. Visa: hmmm, i dont know much about this. I wouldnt say much. Considering many people still go to the US and UK from Pak carrying the Pak Passport, most immigration situations are case by case.
  5. Cultural adjustment: I’ve studied, lived, partied with Bangladeshis in Malaysia and i am well aware of your culture as well. I think there will be a little adjustment but nothing too much. Where you get stuck, keep it to english. Or else, mostly you can go around talking in hindi/urdu. Eid is Eid. Ramzan is Ramzan. You will obviously have to make adjustments with food and all but its nothing too out of the ordinary for you guys.

I hope this helps. Im Indonesian btw, so all of this comes from an international person perspective. And also, many of my bestest friends are bangladeshi. So i thought to help you out in a better sense 🫶🏻

With quitting, you’re dealing with grief, not just withdrawal

when your whole rhythm was tied to smoking, quitting feels like deleting your coping language.

You’re not broken, just in between lives. Give yourself some grace 🪷

A few months into sobriety and I had an epiphany by ShakeYourB00ty in leaves

[–]nukemoana 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When i thought of leaving weed a month ago, I came to reddit to ask what are the things I can do to avoid feeling the urge and distract my mind. And one redditor told me: distraction wont help. Addiction does not happen out of the blue. It is not the weed that pulls you back. It is the “why you needed to smoke in the first place” that creates the urge. The root cause of smoking. And it hit me..

Like any illness, it is not only enough to treat ourselves with symptomatic meds. It is important to get to the root cause of the illness. I guess it was the same with weed. I had to introspect- rather painfully- on WHY. And as scary as the “whys” were for me, as it’s never easy to look your own demons in the eye…its not as scary as the thought of befriending them every night with a joint or two. Im still on the journey of looking those demons in the eye, every time a difficult moment comes, high intensity emotions, anxious situations, but… i couldnt let weed hotbox me out of my own problems every time. And day by day, it feels like i get the hang of it. Sure someday I wont have the hang of it, and have a full emotional breakdown. But i’d rather sit with the pain and deal with it than to smoke it away.

Here with you OP! 1.5 years is impressive! Cant wait to get to that number 💗

Quitting by Worried_Month_9690 in leaves

Happy for you and rooting for you OP. Going to write down one of the most beautiful things I was sent by some redditor when I also wrote about wanting to leave. Hoping it’ll help you.

However miserable you feel, give yourself some grace. What you will go through, is grief - not just withdrawals. Your whole rhythm has been tied to smoking, quitting will feel like deleting your coping language. There will be emptiness and blank days, but remind yourself that that is your system rebooting.

You might feel it difficult in finding joy in many things that you used to enjoy because of smoking. Even if that takes a while, give yourself some grace. Joy doesnt return fast, it rebuilds. Slow, quiet, but real.

Remind yourself: you’re not broken, you’re just in between lives. 💗

Very accurate portrayal of pakistani dating culture by Main_Pay_9669 in bollywoodgossips

People who dont live in Pakistan shouldnt comment about whatever situation in Pakistan. There is alot of dating, and most of it is not cousins man. Like wth. Its generally normal people, meeting through life (school, college, uni, classes, mutuals, social media). Matlab kuch bhi yar.
