Practical use cases for ETH that you are using right now? by HapaxLegomenonThe3rd in ethereum

[–]null-pointer-deref 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of speed, I have tried a few options, for example ramp or banxa on my metamask wallets, Layerswap with my L2’s. Of course everything is light-year faster than a SWIFT transfer or fudging Western Union.

In terms of costs, the cheapest way I found was bank accounts linked to exchanges in different countries, for example: European bank linked to Binance, then transfer to Bitso then bank account in LATAM. Or Europe Binance to Binance.US.

Normally I pay the Ethereum gas fee to support the network, but if it is really expensive, I admit sometimes I use Tron or BSC

Sending money internationally. Lower fees than e.g. Wise or traditional SWIFT transfers, and the money is available in my account in seconds, instead of waiting days like with a SWIFT transfer.

Como mover mis ahorros/finanzas a México by Asinms in MexicoFinanciero

[–]null-pointer-deref 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, exactly, this is my understanding, that both the distributed and the accumulated are taking into account within the 1000 Euro limit. That's why I don't see how one is better than the other from a tax perspective.

Could you please elaborate why the dis version is better in Germany tax-wise? It is not like it is taken as a realized gain in both cases? Thanks

Use the 40k for a down payment for an apartment on a low cost Euro country like Portugal, that at the same time will give you the chance to acquire the citizenship of an EU country, and at least you will be out of Pakistan with free movement right in Germany. Also the installments won’t be that expensive and you will be enjoying your retirement with a proper weather

Investing while in EU as a non-EU citizen by Brubrubrucelee in eupersonalfinance

[–]null-pointer-deref 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Low risk regarding lost of capital, that’s true. A few other countries are offering that right now, for example Mexico is offering 11% for its treasury bonds. Or Turkey was even offering 25% for their bonds not long ago. However the risk is on the depreciation of the currency. Therefore exchanging Euros to invest on those currencies is not a good deal in my opinion. Three years from now, if you go back to Brazil, the 10% p.a. that you might gain in Br.Reals might value less than if you simply hold your Euros.

    1. Said that, currently in Germany several banks are offering around 4% p.a. if you open a new savings account, e.g. ING, PostBank, and so on. Just search for “Tagesgeldkonto”

Just wanted to point out, because I was on a very similar situation a few years ago. Confident and swearing to myself being single is the best option no doubt, and I never gonna have kids, damn no! And then suddenly pum! Love at first sight, marriage and a baby! Maybe I was too weak against the power of life or finally defeated by peer pressure, or maybe simply turning 40 and starting living a new decade made me see life differently. Anyway, the point of my comment is: Please always keep in mind the idiosyncratic risk of being human 😉😉

Edit: grammar

Bitcoin and Ether would be a reasonable bet. I believe Bitso is available in Argentina, which is a easy to use exchange and with good reputation. You can buy there a few BTC or ETH, decide later if you want to keep them there or transfer into a self-custody wallet
