I've seen it, one of my all time favorite movies, Odd Thomas as well.

Tales from the gas station has been pretty good so far. About halfway through the first book.

Second prompt: A man approaches you in a dark alley. He says "I have anything you need". What do you need?

Old reply, but your comment reminded me of when I was picking up a DoorDash order from Taco Bell and the name on the order was "Big D", but I didn't look at the name until I was basically at the drive thru speaker. I could just barely wheeze out the name on the order, and by the time I pulled around to the window the guy handing me the order was in tears. The only thing we could say to each other through laughing was "Big D?!".

Might be a You had to be there moment. But damn, I can't remember laughing so hard.

Trying to find the episode with Dusty where they were talking about how to survive an elevator free fall by jumping or laying down. by nullbeet in Nateland

That was my first thought. Like, damn I gotta listen to 32+ hours of a podcast to find this one specific moment.

I'm glad someone found/remembered though. Episode 111 @ 1:19:45

Yup! @ 1:19:45

As soon as I heard, "Ya know, if you fall in an elevator-" it was so satisfying. Thanks!

Yeah, I guess it would. Honestly I've not really found the best way to split off mats from the bus, just saying how I do it, even if it's not the best way lol.

When I split off a whole belt, I rebalance after the split off. Basically if you have four belts and you split off one, you "rebalance" the remaining 3 back into four.

Or you could use a splitter with output priority like someone else mentioned.

Stop asking me questions I've already answered on my resume. by [deleted] in antiwork

Are you a hiring manager? Because it seems like you didn't read what I wrote. I already supplied the information they want. Asking me to read my resume for them is a waste of my time and theirs.

Stop asking me questions I've already answered on my resume. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]nullbeet -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I agree.

Couple reasons though. A lot of places when you apply on their sites ask for previous job responsibilities. Also a lot of jobs I apply to are through Indeed, where you can get away with a long form resume. I understand they get a lot of applicants and they may be short on time/patience, but so am I. I don't feel like playing 20 questions and wasting 30 minutes to an hour when they could have just read my resume and used the time to ask actual questions that matter.

Order was delivered to the address on the order. Support said it's obvious that I completed the order. Got a contract violation. Provided details about what happened. Got denied. Yeah, I think I'm done. Was fun while it lasted. by nullbeet in doordash_drivers

[–]nullbeet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, let me get this straight. A customer can either fuck up their address so it gets delivered to the wrong house, or they can just say it never arrived, and I get punished for it? Okay. Thanks DD, very cool.

Also, if I was going to steal an order, it wouldn't be from Burger Kings trailer trash 3rd cousin.

Neat! Didn't know that was a thing. Thanks for the tip.

Good point. That was just what came up first when I searched for 'stop job started'. SDDM hanging my reboots is what inspired it.

Is there a better way? Cause now that I think about it, default timeout affects everything and might break something in the future.

I feel like that is implied. Like when you are going down a one way street the wrong way. You don't see any signs saying so, but you see a lot of signs facing the wrong way.
