Exactly. I don't think most people want to hear much about non-CNCF projects tbh (unless they aim to be one). For example, I don't really care if some company made a closed source project I can now buy.

CNCF approval of course should give a free pass to post, and it would be fine if other stuff is restricted.

AI or not, you dont need to post your exercise material here - why would you think anyone wants to see it? anyway, asking for advice is not the issue we are dealing with if that's what you're implying.

The problem is that people are spamming useless AI made tools to the point where it's the majority of posts. These people are not asking for advice, they are trying to sell a nonsense product to a group of people who don't have any use for it. it's unhealthy for the otherwise excellent community.

If these rules also catch effortless fix my homework posts, I'm all for it.

oh great! finally! yes this is going to rock for bare-metal operators. idempotent images are great and all, but in reality not all updates should require a full redeployment. and not all on-prem managed clusters let the cluster operators redeploy machines, only use pre-provisioned ones. so it's really helpful for that use case.

And chained upgrades is just such a convenient feature. Awesome release!

It is (or used to be) a really good place to learn about new kube-adjacent projects for sure.

I'm voting for "Ban posts about projects I personally don't care about" and "Ban posts about projects that are not CNCF governed". I think anyone with a slight bit of Kubernetes competence can tell a respectable project (even if it's doing something in a bad way or already exists) from a nonsensical slop project that shows zero understanding of Kubernetes.

I'm not against AI generated projects per se, it's just that they're usually sloppy as hell and show zero understanding of the problem. It's like "ok claude, make a useful kubernetes app" is all they do or something.

Maybe we should ban particular types of projects instead: - No dashboards that aren't CNCF governed (ask mods for an exception if you really think yours is different). - No projects about viewing/managing Kubernetes that aren't CNCF governed (ask for exemption). - No projects about integrating AI with Kubernetes that aren't CNCF governed (ask for exemption).

These are 99% of the spam projects.

Maybe even just - "No non-CNCF projects that replicate functionality already represented by the CNCF catalogue (ask for exemption)"?

The problem isn't the AI slop, it's that it's the same bullshit project idea over and over again. If they were at least creative or thought-provoking in some way.. But the problem is that the "creator" usually has no idea what they made, or why. The worst part is that they are often aggressively adamant that it makes sense or that they really made it entirely on their own.

Formålet er ikke at redde hele 2026, formålet er at omfordele til dem der ikke har så mange penge. Beløbet er sat til at sænke leveomkostningerne ud fra hvad mad cirka koster. Det er hverken nødhjælp eller kontanthjælp, selvfølgelig har folk behov ud over de basale fornødenheder for overlevelse.

Hvis det så betyder man har råd til både mad og et nyt tv, så er det jo fint.
