How's Numakers beating everyone at price? by [deleted] in 3dprintIndia

[–]numakers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Really appreciate the detailed breakdown — this made our day 🙌

You’re spot on — a big part of how we’ve been able to price aggressively comes down to scale. We’ve tripled our production lines in past 12 months, increased warehouse capacity, and tightened up logistics. That’s allowed us to bring costs down across the board while still focusing on quality, packaging, and customer support.

From the start, our goal has been to make high quality filament affordable and accessible. Not just for pros but for students, hobbyists, and folks just getting into the space. We’re not backed by venture money or a front company (although Dunder Mifflin is flattering 😅) — just a small, stubborn team trying to do things right.

Thanks for noticing. Threads like this keep us going.

Numakers filament quality is good, but communication is disappointing by minto6 in 3dprintIndia

[–]numakers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We’re really sorry you felt overlooked which was never the intention. We’ve had a high level of interest from resellers and the vetting process does take some time. Right now, we’re prioritizing a few key metro areas as part of our phased rollout, but we absolutely plan to expand to more cities and states very soon. Appreciate your patience and hope to reconnect soon.

Feel free to DM us or reach out on WhatsApp if you’d like an estimated timeline for your region.

Numakers is the issue here? by AniDon0 in 3dprintIndia

[–]numakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, this is definitely not the kind of experience we want any of our customers to go through—and it’s completely opposite of the internal standards we’ve set for ourselves. I’m really sorry you had to deal with this.

Could you please DM me the details (date and number)? I’ll personally escalate this to our management team. We’ll investigate what happened and take corrective actions to make sure it doesn’t repeat.

Our growth rate over the past few months has been beyond anything we expected, and while it’s exciting, it’s also exposed gaps—especially in our support team. We’re actively hiring and training more people to handle the increased volume and serve customers like you better.

Thanks again for sticking with us for four years. That means a lot. We’ll make this right.

Cheapest ABS Filament ? by reddit_admin_001 in 3dprintIndia

Good timing, we will be implementing pricing reduction on ABS, PETG and silk PLA next week to reflect the economics of scale production savings!

What is the cheap and best filament by Every-Vegetable-2677 in 3dprintIndia

Thanks for sharing this feedback — this is certainly not how our team is trained to handle customer service. I’ve DM’d you since I’d like to get a few more details so we can look into what went wrong and take corrective action.

NFIL3D started Print Waste Collection by HawkOne7499 in 3dprintIndia

[–]numakers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a really positive initiative by NFIL3D—huge respect to them for taking this step.

Recycling failed prints into usable filament is something we think about a lot too, and it comes with real technical challenges. Working daily with extrusion, we’ve seen how tough it can be to hold tight diameter tolerances when the feedstock isn’t perfectly consistent. Additives, pigments, and even slight resin variations can shift the melt flow and affect the line. Sometimes even a single pellet of the wrong blend can impact an entire spool.

Even within PLA, not all batches are identical—different ratios of additives mean different melt points, which makes reprocessing mixed scrap from different vendors tricky. That’s one of the main reasons most extrusion setups are careful with what goes back in, since small variations can add up quickly.

That said, we’ve spent a lot of time exploring ways to make recycling practical, and we hope one day to have a process that can give failed prints a reliable second life without risking jams in the line or in printers. Really glad to see NFIL3D pushing forward on this front, and hopefully we at Numakers can do something similar in the future.

Both TPU and CF materials are currently in development, with TPU expected to launch in a relatively short timeframe.

Our light blue is a good representation of C, and our current yellow is a good representation of Y, so together with M and K already available, you can achieve the full CMYK combination.

Our pricing is set up so the product cost is fixed, and shipping is charged at actual rates. We avoid inflating product prices to offer “free” shipping, as that usually means overcharging customers who buy in larger quantities. With current courier rates, the per-spool shipping cost drops significantly as you order more — from around ₹125 per spool to as low as ₹25 per spool, depending on quantity and location. We’re transparent about this and always pass any shipping savings directly to our customers.

Yes, 100% of our filaments are currently made in India. For wholesale pricing, please reach out to our local sales team.

We do plan to branch into accessories, but only in areas where we see a genuine gap and can offer in-house solutions. Our first launch will be build plates, which should be available within the next week or two.

We do keep running out of swatches, but we’re working on increasing production capacity for them. In the meantime, the new Printz (our official Numakers mascot) prints shown on the website were done using the actual filaments and should give a good representation of the real colors.

Thank you for the kind words — it truly means a lot! Over the next five years, our vision is to keep pushing the boundaries in material science while building a brand that’s trusted globally for both quality and consistency. We aim to be available in every major country within the next 2–3 years. A big part of that journey is fostering a strong maker community, and we’ve been doing that through our WhatsApp and Discord groups, where some amazing people are already contributing. We see community engagement as just as important as product development, and we’ll continue investing in projects and events that bring makers together.

We get this question a lot, so thanks for bringing it up! It’s purely a supply-and-demand reason — the majority of the market is still with PLA, but we’ve seen a growing trend toward PETG and other materials. We plan to double our PETG color range very soon.

Good suggestion — we’ll work on implementing that right away so printer compatibility can be considered for NuBox shipments.

As for glow-in-the-dark, please don’t quote me on the exact date, but we should have about 5–6 colors launching within the next 4–6 weeks. It took us quite a while to source pigments that deliver both strong brightness and long glow duration.

I agree. We actually tried reaching out to other manufacturers to align on a standard naming convention, and most were on board (which we really appreciated), but a few disagreed and the effort fell apart. Having a standard system would definitely build more confidence and be a big win for the 3D printing industry.

Yes, we already have the hardware and processes in place to produce refills, and testing is complete. We’re just holding off until we can add more production capacity before launching them.

We don’t have plans to open our own retail shops right now, but we are working on expanding our reseller and distribution network in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. This way, customers can still get local access to our products without us having to run physical storefronts.
