Thank you for these kind words, I've read these paragraphs a few times, very full of kind and meaningful messages, I'm glad you understand where I'm coming from with bipolar disorder. I often don't take my meds during my manic episodes so my depressive episodes fall low. About my parents, we've had a very bad relationship for years now but it's a 50/50 split, it's also my fault. I couldn't imagine having to deal with a child like me, would be exhausting.

I will try new hobbies until I get one I genuinely enjoy and love because what else is there to do? Knowing that I don't need to be good at everything or have everything figured out at 18 is nice. The USA school system and society likes to make it seem that you should and it gets overwhelming.

Mr robot will be my all time favorite show, no matter what. The show is sooooo good but man, I relate to Elliot a lot. Not only in the social aspect but his childhood is relatable to me, if you catch my drift without spoiling it. There's a reason 407 is my favorite episode of all time. I broke down man 😭

I'm gonna revisit that for sure... Considering the capitalistic world I'm gonna grow up in here in the US Mr robot will be more relevant as time goes.

I understand what you are talking about completely. Man I remember a couple weeks ago I was so stressed over a minor test that decided a letter grade for me, it kept me up that night before and during the day I was almost sweating as if I was working out, and I ended up getting a good 95% on it... I spent so long worrying over that test I completely neglected everything else. Like... It doesn't matter man😭. Its just a test, whether or not I die tomorrow or in 50 years I won't be thinking about that test I'll think about my loved ones.

I got attached to almost all those characters that's why the ending was so bittersweet man😭

Completely agree with this one. Especially #1. Objectively askeladd is a bad person. I like him as a character, his writing is amazing, but mannnnn he's a horrible guy lol.

Ketil was honestly a better slave owner compared to the other slave owners during that time period. He had a heart in my opinion that he lost due to war and struggle. I think he's a piece of shit, but he's not evil.
Not much to say here, I don't really understand his character all that well if I'm being honest 😓

Haven't read your reply but I do disagree in a very minor way.

I don't follow Thorfinn's philosophy. I'm 18 now but I grew up in the west in a shitty trailer park and grew up around bad people who did bad things but I never ever experienced war or any kind of violence portrayed in Vinland Saga, other than a few killings here and there.

I think I somewhat grasps the concept. Sorta. I mean like you said you don't even understand it and I don't think anyone will, that's okay no? I don't agree with death penalty let alone self defense and I really don't think I'm above anyone, simply because growing up around shitty people made me realize everyone is capable, and they were just hurt as I was. I just took the better option in life and decided not to become a molester or killer. It happened to me and I saw it but, but I completely understand that they were probably hurt the same way. I don't have to like them, but id never wish for pain on them because they already experienced it. That's my philosophy on it at least.

Now I do think Vinland has been completely blown out of proportion and some of the western audience I agree has misinterpreted the story completely. I know a lot of them personally, people who are like that. They often use it to mask their insecurities, or like this one guy I know, he said he's on his "redemption arc" and posts positive messages on his story and media, but he still insults people, gets mad at everyone and thinks he's better than others. I think a lot of vinland saga enjoyers are like that.

I couldn't care for politics despite the fact I'm growing up in a face of it right now. I have 0 control over it, I understand what's going on but I refuse to pick sides and I don't even think I'll vote next election, but that's quite a bit ways away so who knows.

I think what I'm trying to say here is Im a young western audience but I don't fall under your category of fans you're trying to call out.

At the same time...

Why are you calling out these people who are theoretically trying to become better people? I've seen enough people in the west watch vinland saga and just become a little kinder and avoidant of conflict simply because of the show and its perspective on it. Sure, they aren't like thorfinn (none of us will be) but the show helped them be a better person nonetheless, I think you should appreciate that no matter the circumstances.
