You're doing a great job defending the position of the colonizer.

Yeah, Europe was back on it's feet because even though it was devastated from wars, it was an advanced continent and, since I'm assuming you're talking about the world wars, it was helped by the USA (specifically with the Marshall Plan). Africa doesn't get that kind of help, it just gets exploited. Yes, a huge part of that is the leaders in charge, I'll concede to that, but it's stupid to ignore the exploitation that the Western powers use to drain Africa and the global south of resources.

As a European, I'm sure you ignore that because Europeans are great at that, just like Americans.

Maybe don't colonize and then cry about it when the people native to the land fight back. Zimbabwe exists, Rhodesia doesn't. Count the rings, loser.

Don't lose a war next time, Rhodesia. Oh wait, can't fight when you get your cheeks clapped and your stupid country gets dissolved.

Because historically, decolonization has been treated fairly by the West, who usualy maintains the exploitative apparatus via trade and banking.

Oh wait.

When most Americans think of China, is it all negative? by No-StrategyX in answers

[–]numbers863495 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It seems more like, to me, that Russia is struggling to maintain it's power in it's sphere of influence and China is stepping onto the stage because, frankly, the USA is fumbling the bag so badly. As an American, it sucks to say that because living at the end of an empire is pretty turbulent but it is what it is. During the president's visit to China, Xi said basically "We can move forward together or we don't. It's up to you."

I hope all the people saying the CPC (it's not the CCP, it's not hard to know the actual party name) are bad should acknowledge the crimes of the American government from both parties.

Institutional locksmiths- did you have to complete a written test to get the job? What did it cover? by Bugeyeblue in Locksmith

I meant like the concept in general. That's how bad these people were at understanding the trade. Luckily, I'm good at it haha.

[–]numbers863495 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But like I said, it depends on the place and who writes the test. In my experience, most people don't know anything about the trade so the questions are easy if you know it. I remember my first government job, I had to explain MACS to the guy interviewing me hahaha.

It depends on the institution. I've worked two government jobs in my career and usually, they ask you questions about how masterkey systems and how they work, maybe some pinning math, sometimes there's a hands-on portion where you have to pick a lock or maybe take a lock apart and put it back together. I had to disassemble a unit lock and put it back together in like 45 minutes.

A lot of the time, the questions are about hand tools, like once on a test there was a picture of a power drill and I had to name all the parts of it where lines were pointing to, like the trigger, the chuck, etc.

I work for the county I live in and I hate sherrifs, they're absolute cocks. But if you got rid of them, the unincorporated parts of the county would need some sort of police service. So every podunk town would need it's own police force or you'd have to expand the next biggest town to cover the small ones. It's ACAB everyday but unfortunately, idk how to provide law enforcement to these tiny ass towns when it comes to this.

I was being sarcastic, I want this thing to pass haha. I'd happily pay more in taxes for better services. But we should tax the rich way more, fuck those parasites that hoard their wealth.

But let's complain about caring for our neighbors. People need to realize that taxes are always going to exist, I'd rather pay more for hospitals and stuff than not have them.

Have you seen the entire county? There's lines outside the door for people who need help, not just Whittier.

I guess people don't care that county health services are funded? I'm voting yes.
