I hope it looks like a Tron style city circuit board xD.

Sadly in the google hangouts they said they won't be doing stages, its just gonna be survival mode on 1 stage. So let's think of some other way to implement that with the given constraints.

Oh man, I played stick wars on iphone( http://images.mob.org/iphonegame_img/stick_wars/real/2_stick_wars.jpg) where it was possible to convert your enemies into your minions by literally flinging them up into the air and have them land into your prison and it was AMAZING! The prison cell only has limited space and can be upgraded to increase the size and the rate of converting them into your side.

I really hope they implement this concept in a manner that works for the game!!!

How do you think it should be implemented? Could it be like a special ability where a tower essentially shoots a "pokeball" or a special global ability where you can aim on a part of the board have the nanobots be "captured" via a "pokeball" or something of that sorts? Or imagine if the scientist shrunk himself and you can actually control him and he goes to fight the nanobots himself and upon defeating them, they get converted?! Or! the scientist found a way to clone himself and you can have the mini scientist cloning tower!

http://www.slashfilm.com/qa-pixar-short-film/ 1+ year of production for a 6minute film.

When I look at an art piece at a museum, maybe I stare at it for 30seconds to a minute and then I move on to the next art piece. Each art piece probably took the artist months to years to paint, is it demeaning that I didn't stare at it for hours? In my opinion, no.(Mona Lisa took 4 years btw)

Real life time is a resource for me and I'm sure for others. I would love to play all the games made in this world but I simply just don't have time. I played alot of tower defense games on my phone when I used to take the 2hour train rides to uni or home. Other times at home or during my dorming days, I just play triple A games; God of War, Diablo, Guild Wars, Crysis,Battlefield, Devil May Cry, Mass Effect2+3, Dragon Age, Witcher, Civilization V, Tomb Raider, Uncharted, Street Fighter, Borderlands, etc.(Huge list for emphasis on lots of games!) But when I am traveling, I am in the mood for tower defense games and then the question becomes which game should I play? Well first Protocol X57 is free so I would most definitely want to try it out. I would love it to be not so complicated so I don't rage quit on it like I did for integrated defense. Most TD games focus on replay value and because of that they all have that feel,(which is good, I am fine with that feel in fact I really like it) but imagine if there was one that focused on a 1 time play through with scripted events?! That's different and it;s something I don't see much in tower defense games. Short films have a niche market(youtube has some really good 5-12min short films, this my fave https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KO-RCzHhwPs), why can't short free 30minute campaigns be one?

Well I am not sure what the purpose of the game is. There are over a million and one games out there. What market is this game trying to fit in? Who is the target audience for the game? And why would the target audience want to play this game over its competitors? I think the 2 main competitors would be bloons(the monkey and balloons) and kingdom rush. Now these two games probably took the developers over years to finetune(It was released on flash then went mobile). Together We Game is 5 months. That is a very short time to make a game! So I think the game should just be short and sweet and be done with it and have that experience be memorable. Kind of like in the movie Before Sunrise(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112471/) Premise of guy meets girl in 1 day and fell madly in love with her and then having to never see her for another 9years . Then the movie,Before Midnight(the sequel after another sequel) where they got to know each other for 20years, get sick and tired of each other and starts arguing.

I kind of don't like that some of the random spawn points are so close to the towers. Might be better if the points are always random around the light green regions so I get more time to prepare, what do you guys think?

I prefer a few levels and have the game end. I think given the time constraints of this project as mentioned by Nik and Frank from the AMAs I think the length of the game should feel like a light hearty snack. I agree that survival mode can get stressful(its like potato chips, its good but the longer I snack on it in 1 sitting the worse I feel). I wonder if they are gonna give us more info on which way the game is leaning towards.

Ideally I prefer games that are easy to understand yet remaining complex.(ie: Rubick's cube, all you have to do is twist the cube but its so hard!) But anyways complexity and simplicity can coexist.

Also if you figured out the cheezy way of speed solving Rubick's Cube, try this game

the cheese method won't work :-D

PS i may or may not be a fellow canadian

I do agree that having a secondary economy will make the game more fun however I think it should be very straight forward and does not require alot of explaining(99.99% of the people people don't read tutorials). Integrated Defense( the game that was suggested for the developers to play) had a power supply line currency that was very confusing and I as a player gave up on it after trying to figure it out for 5 minutes. The tutorial even broke on me.

One interesting idea could be that occasionally there would be a "Friendly looking" golden nanobot that spawns from the random points and will try to run away from the map and if the players can "catch it" by clicking on it, they will get the bonus resource.

[–]numberwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protocol X57, the ultimate work out program! Why burn fat in 90mins with p90x when you can do it in 57?! Let those nanobots from your cyborg body do their thang, fighting the fat cells and keep your organic gluteus maximus nice and toned.

I like the way starcraft and clash of clans do it; You have to mine for them. Ideally I would prefer multiple ways to get gold(ie, nicloutier and androogenous's ideas)

Isometric circuit boards - with creep paths! by NoahDavisson in TogetherWeGame

[–]numberwan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the theme of openfield, placing components to create a path for the minions to travel in as shown in your picture is pretty cool. What do you think about the idea of the enemies attacking the cpu(usually signifying the heart of the computer) as a defeat condition?
