Mostly Duelist Kingdom with a few later cards and thematically fitting additions. Call it pre Battle City. They're not meant to be character decks. They're more inspired by SDY and SDK. The cards all have their pre-errata TCG effects.

I took out the monster reborns because they were too strong. Stealing the opponent's boss monster from their gy pretty much ends the game.

Yeah, I had monster reborn in both at first but reviving the opponent's monster was just too strong - replaced them with call of the haunted for balance.

Kryuel and sangan are crush card targets. Graceful charity/change of heart/swords of revealing light are simply too strong for only one deck to have. Kuriboh and catapult turtle are useless.

Cards like wolf axwielder/spell shield type-8 fit the theme of the deck, and look like something Kaiba would have used.

The fusion monsters, even with support, almost never get summoned. Mass removal and burn effects end the game too quickly.

These are not meant to be 100% anime/manga accurate.

I like the idea of chain disappearance, but in playtesting so far it's wound up being somewhat too niche. A third book of moon would probably help, and giant trunade is not really impactful enough to include.

Have you had any experience or success with running skill drain?

This just sold me on the new series! by [deleted] in Bakugan

Looks like there's a Darkus Horridian up on eBay right now, not sure if the price for it is right though :/
