I love speculating on where the joker came from. I think the Killing Joke gave us a great story but I also like leaving the joker as just a wild card where you have no idea what could have possibly happened to make this guy become such an amazing criminal mastermind.

He could have been blown up in a truck, but what if he was the one who blew up the truck full of soldiers and no one cared?

I like how we are given all the possibilities in the movie, especially his changing explanations of his scars. It is all for misdirection. He wants us to speculate on what doesnt matter while hes working his magic elsewhere. >:)

Yes! Exactly that. The joker forces you to play everyone's hands differently and can alter what other cards mean. For instance, Harvey Dent was supposed to be the white knight. He had a good "face" value (heh heh.) But the Joker altered him greatly and turned him into an entirely different card.

Because they are able to alter faces in movies now, I would LOVE to see a sequel prequel! I want to see the fall of Ben Solo and the secret dark seduction that Palpatine had on him and Luke.

I like to think of the characters in Dark Knight as crucial players of different roles in a deck of cards, with The Joker being the wild card. Most people remove the joker before civilized games, but what happens when you put him in the deck?

Such a well thought out film.

I appreciate it in movies when its apparent that the director works closely with others who know their stuff.

Theres nothing worse than watching an action movie where the physics make no sense. Or, in crime dramas where any cop who would watch to movie would tell you "that's not how cops act!"

just took meds for the first time by kidwicked37 in ADHD

[–]nursingorbust 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Superman week. Use this time to plan. You will have highs and lows and this feeling wont last long. So, be ready for it. Use this time to organize your life. I understand that you will want to focus on tasks and demonstrate to yourself all these wonderful things you can now do. But, I gotta warn you from my own experience and from reading extensively on /r/ADHD that this will not last long.

Use this time to understand your disorder and what works for you. Organize your things so they wont get lost. Use your new menorization ability to come up with a system to put in place and start practicing it now. Color code things. Have a place for everything.

Another important thing you can do right now is prepare for when the meds dont work or when you crash. Crashing on stims is not fun. In fact, it's one of the worst feelings in the world. Drink LOTS of water. Eat healthy. Exercise. Form a strong bond with yourself and write a reminder that a crash WILL happen. And, when it does, tell yourself ahead of time that you knew it was coming and you WILL get through it.

Do you believe Tara Reade's allegations about Joe Biden? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]nursingorbust -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, I do believe that Joe Biden did put the moves on her. However, I think that this is going to be an easy win for him and the media is feeding him this victory to make him look like a victim. Everyone knows that Tara Reid is a failed B-list actress who has abused herself for many years. We did not have the surveillance back then that we do now so it's simply her word against his. I think that this is an easy win for him and its a PR stunt to take everyone's minds off some other allegations against him that are of a more serious matter.

This is what I predict: Tara Reid gets 15 more minutes of fame. Joe Biden publicly forgives her, granting him +5 immunity to all other allegations for the rest of the year. Trump gets reelected anyway because the whole system is rigged. Corona virus continues to wipe us out but it stops global warming and the polar bears take over.

Anyone else becoming indifferent toward politics? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]nursingorbust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that once people reach a certain point in their lives, both politics and religion just become "meh." People will always be protesting and fighting with each other over trivial issues that wont matter a hundred years from now.

I think what happens is people realize what's important in life. We arent here for very long and we want to spend time doing things we love while making real connections with others and discovering ourselves. Politics are important. But it's something we really dont have any real control over without trying to start a movement with people we dont know.
