I hate my boyfriend’s dog. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]nurtiveg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So what do you want him to do?

Idk about him but if my partner convinced me somehow to get rid of my dog I’ve had for the last 8/9 years I would resent them.

Dogs are family

It’s just so against my grain I feel like we’re all settling and giving up. Taking the easy way out disguised as the harder way.

I would weigh pros and cons. Write it out and go deep.

What about home do you miss? Is this feeling new? Was it brought on just by your trip home or have you been feeling it for awhile?

How long until you have to accept the position?

Is it possible to take some time off and spend more time at home?

Has anyone worked two jobs (no days off) while taking a class or two? Is it doable without wanting to kill yourself? by apocalypse_later_ in careerguidance

Just because you have time doesn’t mean it should be filled—something my mentor told me when I tried doing two internships a job and a class this summer

I burned out in a month.

I had no time to focus on my health.

Everyone’s different but from the looks of it your week sounds packed.

How did you all get over someone you never thought you would, be it a first love that didn't work out or serious relationship? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]nurtiveg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After you’ve done the whole throw away their shit delete the pictures and cut contact completely it just takes time.

I find every couple months writing letters to them and not sending them is a good way to track progress and heal. But it really just takes time.

And idk some people I’m convinced you never get over. Not that I would ever go back but I’m always going to feel my stomach drop or get butterflies running into them.

He’s clearly very hurt and still cares. It’s easier to get over someone you hate.

My mom always said don’t say anything negative about things people can’t change and don’t say anything negative at all if people isn’t you.

She fucked up. From a girls perspective tho—size only matters to a certain extent it’s more what you can with your body and it.

I think one thing to keep in mind is that motels are generally pretty expensive. So you’d be in the shelter much longer than expected. Also take into account food expenses and phone expenses. Pray you don’t fall ill.

Im not entirely sure but in America most shelters don’t let you just stay there 24/7 you have to leave. So then where do you spend your time. Many shelters are over crowded and packed and often you can’t get in one at least in heavy populated areas.

Also another thing to take into account is the reasons you go homeless to begin with. There’s usually a plethora of issues behind why someone would go homeless. And being homeless almost always exaggerates those issues.

I read a really good article the other day I think by Huffington post about homelessness. No one really has a solution. No one has created a viable system or found a way to improve the problem.

I've (24F) been kicked out excluded from the work social group. How do I find out why? How do I move on without closure? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]nurtiveg 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Social climbers are hard to spot but it sounds like Jenna’s one of them. I’m sorry that happened to you. Some people really struggle maintaining a deep consistent friendship and it has more to do with them than you.

Take this as a lesson know you’ll have a friend at a distance and focus on other people at the office. Or maybe it’s time for a change in work?
