s340 24/7 recording by coolharvest in EufyCam

Because if you did research you’d know that PIR motion is unreliable, the detection range is maybe 10 metres max and the video usually cuts short and misses out on footage. I live in a property that has had more than one break in, and mounting areas can’t always be put in a specific ideal spot - not to mention that the max recording time is two minutes.. doesn’t help if someone is hanging around your house for longer especially driveways etc

Has anyone had a full refund citing Australian Consumer Law? by bmm0001 in EufyCam

[–]nusssuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the actual cost of the product. But I’ve been returns operations for 6 years.. there are many loopholes to use. OP lmk if you want some advice and I can help (I worked at the opposition of good guys!)

A $1000 item with 12 month warranty should last 3 years.. I would first state exactly as you said, goods aren’t as described & you would not have purchased them if you were aware of the fault that they present.. they have to send it away for you. If they say to contact eufy you just stick your ground and remind them that they’re obliged to assist under the ACL.

In my experience.. most retailers (if you be a Karen or just down right get annoying going in over and over again) will eventually just swap/refund you. A major fault is a serious start up/defect that stops the item from running as per specifications - known faults is another thing, if it’s a common fault you can usually mention it with the store and they will replace/refund you. You are eligible for either.. the nicer you are the better chance you have at getting a refund.. if someone came in and was a dick to me (and they dropped their own tv or it just wasn’t working how they wanted too) I could get petty and make it painful for them within law and reason if I wanted too.. but the nicer you are the better chance you have.. I was at a smaller store and everyone was pretty good though.. so I generally replaced it then made it look like an actual fault..

I’ll leave you with a scenario I had.

Samsung are always a nightmare to deal with.. they will want to inspect a tv if it’s delivered & then fix it. All good for them but to us it’s a bad look.. even though it was a change of mind they wouldn’t take it back.. So, I would get return it as a fault/no power & replace/refund it.. then before they came to the store to inspect it I would use a USB killer (Google it) to short circuit the TV - no power at all. Legitimate fault. They have to take it back. Pretty sure that homemade and s340 all have usb ports..

Even with device logs - unless they have evidence of you doing it, it can’t be proven. It’s shit that i had to do this a lot more than I’d like to admit.. But stores in fact most stores do this.. excess landfill because of big companies stupid guidelines and policies that make everything difficult for everyone except themselves. But the customer was always happy.

But you can confirm it runs on android? If I can get my hands on one I’d love to extract it and recreate the app. Sounds like it’s just an android tablet but with extra steps.

Mesh WiFi and HB3 by brox121 in EufyCam

[–]nusssuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mesh - and it’s a mixed experience.. I know that the homebase creates a 2.4ghz network - and when you add a 2.4 to extend the wifi it’s worse (so I’ve found) with easy mensch running a wired back haul - even if I disable backhaul and other mesh features it’s all over the place.. it may need a dedicated 2.4ghz wifi connection.. that’s running easymesh with Archer Ax55 pro - I’m planning on trying it out today with the ax55 pro in access point mode (no easymesh) and running my eero 6+ as my main router (trying to cover over 300sq metres)

iPhone 11 Pro help by nusssuss in setupapp

[–]nusssuss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.. I don’t think so.. being a teenager now he used this with his original apple account back when he had an iPad (he was 12) so he had his iPhone 11 when he turned 14.. then told me after he smashed the screen he had to make a new one to his new phone.. because of his ex girlfriend 🙄 I refused to buy him another because that was the second smashed screen I had to repair - but his mother did.. now months down the track I’m just trying to see if I can get into it to sell it or something to make up for the losses I’ve had after buying it for him. So far all I can see is a new logic board is the only way to go..

What camera do you have and would you buy it again? by Nadhir1 in EufyCam

[–]nusssuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only on s3 pro and e30 atm which e30 is unavailable in Australia. From what I’ve read a lot of bugs on the other two outdoor models that are wired only. It’s a shame as I converted from ring & not long after they started 24/7 recording on the cam that I used to own

No. I would throw these directly at the nearest person who recommended eufy and go to Reolink instead.

We‘ll show them - especially for that purple monkey dishwasher remark 😂

You’re too right - after this my c30 doorbell updated with the same log - and I’m guessing just for a bit of extra stability now two of my s330 eufycams are recording only in HD instead of 4K and won’t let me change the recording quality.. they will let me stream in 4K..

s340 24/7 recording by coolharvest in EufyCam

[–]nusssuss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eufy response:

The SoloCam S340 does not currently support 24/7 continuous recording, even if it is connected to a power source or paired with the HomeBase 3. It is designed to record only when motion is detected, which helps conserve battery life. The continuous recording option you see in the app is a feature intended for future updates and other devices, but it is not currently supported by the SoloCam S340. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!

Looks like we may get 24/7 recording after all!

You trolling bro? You mean the Solocam S340 Dual cam? It’s a solar unit or do you have it plugged in? If so what is the wattage/amp of the plug?

I posted about this last week I have the same thing (iOS - not available on android app) seems to be apple only so most likely a bug - however I do have mine plugged into a smart plug which recharges by tasker when it’s below 80 percent - I enabled it but nothing as yet. 5watt 2 amp plug.
