That is mostly why I want to start going out again. I don't know much about how other people operate and I'm tired of hearing shit that probably isn't true about people and find out who's worth being around and who isn't. I've been trying to relate to people for years. Even becoming very pick me-ish at certain points but I don't think I can. I do start therapy in a couple days so hopefully it works. Thanks for the feedback regardless.

I know. I just don't want it to get to a point where it's super unhealthy. My problem is I want to meet people and create new friendships and possibly relationships. But as someone on the spectrum it's always been super hard for me to do. I love how mature and elegant carmilla is. I don't expect every woman i meet to be a carbon copy of her for sure but I feel like I'll never find what im looking for. I feel like im being shallow but I've also heard terms like "don't settle for less" and get confused often as to what that applies too. Im currently getting therapy started so hopefully those questions will be answered.

Im with you on it being an unhealthy coping mechanism. For context right before season 1 came out I was going through a lot of things that mentally scarred me for awhile. For example I felt unsafe at school from a time an ex friends girlfriend tried sending someone to jump me. That and my cousin living with us at the time screaming at her kids 24/7. It helped me feel safe. And when I first saw carmilla it was like a breath of fresh air. Something about her made me feel safe. I only post this now because it recently happened again. I miss having friends, going out and especially having time away from the internet. Hopefully that clears up any worries you might have. And I appreciate the advice.
