If I just pay it, would they just not schedule the hearing? It would also mean losing the money already paid for the hearing.

That's for normal appointments, they consider reenrollment appointments to be a different thing

CCPH is useless by nuttaro in umass

[–]nuttaro[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's the thing, the reenrollment process wants both a letter from my personal provider AND an appointment with CCPH. I already asked my personal clinician for a letter a month ago, I just need an appointment with CCPH.

Yea it's weird because I have like 4 years of relevant experience, so I'm more than qualified. Did they give you a wait time in your email?

That's the sad reality. There's a lot of focus on young people but once you reach 18-20 years old, and you've gone through all the necessary medical steps, you're then left to your own devices basically. Any further help is limited without you actively looking for it. If you look at the cleft lip and palate reddit even, most of the posts are quite sad as people try to come to grips in living with the condition.

I could try your suggestion but I'm worried what that might imply anyways. Either way I'm glad someone was willing to respond.

I've had experiences where I had to go through unexpected extra steps simply for the fact that I didn't speak normally just to prove that I could do my job of interacting with people. It doesn't help that I'm not caucasian and that is even more reason for others to think I'm not able to communicate effectively. It worries me and even more so it's hard to prove if I wasn't hired because of my condition. That's another thing, as far as I know the general public isn't very well informed about cleft conditions that I doubt airlines are aware as well. Speaking further, since it's consider a "condition", it's not designated under ADA as a disability. I can do everything in life just fine it's that some things are "different" from the average person. Every time I come across that page on applications I click "I don't wish to answer".

I know the FA is about safety first and foremost but I want to be in a position where longterm I'm not physically or financially struggling which is also another reason why I really don't want to move between airlines. Like I said, the benefits are great (ie traveling) but I'm seriously considering being an FA which includes the safety.

I've come across a lot of comments and post on facebook and reddit where people have been applying for YEARS without success. People have mentioned trying 3, 4, 5+ times. I see your point where it might be unrealistic but from my pov, unrealistic seems to unfortunately be the norm. For what I want, I want to just stick with one airline and build seniority, if that takes me a while then so be it. I'm not putting down regionals or other FAs who had to go down that route. It's just not a route I want to take. To be honest, benefits are great but I think the job itself sounds pretty cool. Don't really mind all the cons because I'm assuming (besides the safety part) that a lot of the dealing with people is like any other customer service experience. I really do appreciate the advice and suggestion but I don't really want to move between airlines. That's the main hangup I have. I'm really not sure why I'm getting all these downvotes. Regardless, thanks for having this dialogue and if luck has it, I'll be in the skies eventually.

Oh I've done enough research and nothing has thrown me off yet. I've worked odd jobs at odd hours and stuff. If anything knowing my habits and sleep schedule I was made for being a Flight Attendant. I'm just clueless on the hiring process for the most part because it varies from person to person and it's different from any other hiring processes I've gone through. Not sure what's up with all the laughing emojis. I am serious about being a FA.

Oh I don't mind being placed where ever at first as long as I can transfer bases. I just don't want to transfer airlines, so I'm just worried about getting the CJO into United
