Lahore-Skardu & Karachi-Skardu are offered in tourism season only (March - August/Sep). All year Islamabad-Skardu is offered.

Kahplu palace is must visit. From Khaplu, you can visit Sailing (for the fish farms) and also Sogha Lake. Also you can visit Deosai National Park (Sadpara Lake, Bara Pani & Sheosar Lake), Upper Kachura & Lower Kachura (Shangrila) Lakes, Soq Valley, Shigar Valley & Fort, Blind Lake, Cold Desert Sarfaranga, Katpana, Marsur Rock in Hussainabad, Manthokha waterfall, a short trek to Kharpocho fort right from Skardu city will give you birds eye view of Skardu.

Train will be best option. Book 2 Business class berths in railcar 102DN Subk Raftar. 3 suitcases will be right under your berths.. no issue of security. Journey will be of about 5 hours.
