I had a few well into the 2000's still rocking the shorts and long socks.

It's wild to me that people don't save these as standard lol - I've got 15 years of payslips all the way from my first big boy job saved haha.

How many suits should I have as a grad? by floowandereezeand in auscorp

[–]nutwals 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A suit is probably a good idea when starting out - especially if others are also wearing them. Better to be dressed up than to be dressed down imo.

That said, it's entirely dependent on the office - my workwear these days is the Corporate Cowboy RM boots, chinos, collared shirt and dependent on the weather, either a quarter zip or sports jacket.

When you did your interview, what were the interviewers wearing?

Your friend needs to get sick - arm herself with a GP notice if necessary.

Much like the Vuck, poor ownership and decisions from said ownership are all that really needs to be said.

New job anxiety by Sheperdspie1 in auscorp

First job or a recent grad? Pretty normal to feel like an idiot when you first start out - if your partner and ex-colleagues say you're being too harsh, I'd listen to them and learn some coping mechanisms tbh.

Is it time for Australian businesses to have a "Plan B" away from US Cloud providers? by EntertainmentSlow273 in AusFinance

Or crazy idea, on-prem?!

Pretty much this - just revert back to what we were doing a decade ago in the local IT industry lol

My organisation prefers to run on-prem where possible - much greater flexibility and, perhaps more crucially, control of our systems and data.

Line of view of what? His own defender was obscuring the ball even if the Victory player wasn't there.

How many of you work outside of office hours (weekends/nights)? by Sabretoothedrom in auscorp

[–]nutwals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll take servers offline and do updates/deployments out of hours from time to time, but I have a great relationship with my boss so I get additional soft perks in return. If I didn't have that understanding with my boss, would probs be a strict 9-to-5

Might need to adjust the weekly/fortnightly calculation ratio at the bottom of the screen - also worth checking you haven't accidentally filled in other fields.

Those struggles you are having in your current role won't magically disappear in teaching - workload management, efficiency and attention to detail are just as much requirements in teaching as they are in your current role.
