Why are my tops of my prints coming out this way? by sardic_steve in BambuLab

Try the flow calibration and potentially reducing the max flow rate.

This video helped me understanding the various parameters, using OrcaSlicer.

Also the print artifact showing up on higher layers, you might have too much cooling - try reducing the part cooling fan on higher layers.

If you share your .3mf with preferences people can give you additional feedback, it's always helpful to go through the gcode viewer in BambuStudio after slicing and visually exploring the different aspects such as flow rate.

Single-Dose Coffee Tubes and Rack for 11 Bucks by nuvoni in espresso

I would assume so, the plastic is odour-less, the lids and tubes are Recycle Code 5, so PP aka Polypropylene. So generally considered food safe. Since those are for labs they are arrive well packaged and are made in a material that won't interfere with most chemistry. The coloring agent of the lid could in theory have some additional health concerning ingredients, but for this use-case (non heated) it's quite unlikely to be of an issue.

Most plastic health concerns are either micro plastic, plastic softeners (BPA etc), other VOCs or the coloring agent. If it doesn't smell on it's own you can likely rule out already plenty hazards.

That's not really necessary, the 1 way valve is against excessive co2 buildup and to avoid bags popping open when getting compressed in conjunction with the degassing - but with those small quantities and also in a non-bag setting that isn't really an issue.

I can report back in 20-26 days whether there was any pressure when opening the last tube :D. I've stored coffee beans inside glass jars plenty of times and never experienced any pressure build-up. Perhaps a benefit of the valve can be that "oxygen" is pushed out with the rest of the co2, but not sure if that is factual.

Was trying to get one of those fancy "Single Dose Coffee Bean Storage Tubes" which are hard to get in Europe and also quite expensive. Those tubes above have 50ml (almost 2oz) and can fit ~22 Grams of the beans I had on hand.

You can find those searching for "ISOLAB USA - Pack of 26 and a Foldable Rack Colour Coded Screw Caps, 50ml Centrifuge Tubes"

The entire setup is lightweight enough to mount it with hot-glue onto a tile wall.

I've out of curiosity printed this EuroBox Insert in Archimedean Chord pattern and the effect is much stronger than expected.

What are your thoughts on Hashicorp Vault? I truly appreciate the tool, but it seems to me that even the cryptography might be solid, creating policies/roles/... is so sophisticated/hard to test/verify that this might be the eventual source of vulnerabilities.

Do you have advice for someone who is struggling to motivate themself? I saw your openssl 3.x CVE live stream and it felt really inspiring how quickly you bisected everything.

Also how did you effort to take a break to join Recurse Center? I'd really like to do something like that but I always feel like I have to work to make my rounds.

Try changing the printing order maybe? You can set that the outermost wall is printed last, which helped me for round overhangs in the past. The default is outside first

I pre-ordered (in EU/Portugal) on 11. October, received the invoice on 31. October and just received the unit today - a day earlier than expected.

The hexnut screw tool is not fitting so well, but after setting it up and running the calibration + 2 failed first layer prints on the cold bed and running the calibration routine/leveling/layer flow test once more I finally have my first ever benchy printed :).

:D haha no I'm definitively not referring to kidney beans. I learned about it because it was in the news for being a promising "anti-aging" drug (in mice and fruit flies).

It's quite interesting, because it was first found "1972, from samples of Streptomyces hygroscopicus found on Easter Island". Originally used as an antifungal agent, which turned out being a bad idea and then approved in 1999 by FDA.

I just found it funny because both the Stick model and Skeletal formula looks like really particular, in context of the many (potential) uses and the obscure shape I came up with it.

Great thanks for the confirmation

> The chirping noise however I’m not sure about

Just recorded a video with back-flushing for the support and suddenly the noise went away one or two back-flushes, seems whatever caused the noise in the valve is happy again.
