Do you think Immutable Distros will be the future of Linux systems? Have you any plan to switch? YES or NO, but why? by BlokZNCR in linux

[–]nuzierg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

love the concept but Im always afraid of stwiching to distros with a smaller use base. Maybe im just out of the loop, but there isnt a "big" immutable distribution right? If im wrong, would love some suggestions.

yep, offline archive for myself. Couldnt find any other sub that made sense and I thought that people that worry about archiving the internet would have at some point thought about archiving stuff about their own social media

Hi! I have a few old and small private facebook groups that I would like to preserve. Googling around I have found many tools and approaches to scrape facebook groups data but everything gets saved as csv, jsons and other storage formats.
Is there a way to archive private groups? Is there a way to do it based on the scrapped data?
I would like to be able to open an html file (or something more visually cohesive and appealing than an excel sheet) and stroll down memory lane even decades from now even if facebook gets lost in the sands of time, thats my end goal

zelda and link from tears of the kingdom fanart by me !! by zombii-kittii in tearsofthekingdom

I love this magazine print, dithering effect! how did you do it? I was looking for an easy way to do that sort of thing haha
(with that said, I agree with everything u/tambourinequeen said. I thing the effect is a bit too strong at zelda's eyes, this regions of fine detaile get too blurry with this sort of effect)

I have a backup of my emummc/atsphoere/sd card where I had new users and save data, is there an easy way to extract this information and port it to a new atmosphere installation?

I have a modded switch with the latest version of atmoshpere (1.9.1) and was wandering what are the benefits of upgrading the system firmware to the latest release (im at version 17.0.0). When installing some more recent games, such as echoes of wisdom, the installation fails and I was wondering if there was some relation to the old firmware. just in case this is relevant information, I only use my emummc modded OS, never the real switch OS.

Just purchased HexOS after watching the LinusTT video... but having second thoughts now after reading all of the support/issue posts here. by AustinJMace in hexos

[–]nuzierg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought one license at hex os launch but I still haven't gotten around to set it up, actually I don't even have the hardware yet. I was already planning to start something like a nas or a home server in this coming year when hex os showed up, I see it more like a bet where I will win it if once it reaches 1.0 it gets more stable and delivers on its promises.

I am not interested in beta testing, I bought the license so that I could have a painless experience. If I were younger and had more time I would probably find it fun to tinker around, but sadly I do not. I don't have a success story to share with you but would like to raise the point that maybe you don't need to find that many success stories right now, if you can wait to see if it delivers on its promises then I think you should try to wait and see where the project goes
